You have to check this place out. It's one of the oldest Irish pubs in Boston. You want the best Guinness in town? Stop by. They always have live music. Even when it's dead in here it's still fun. Food is good. Atmosphere totally makes this place.

We loved the food and atmosphere here. Welcoming and energetic...even has live Irish music. Shepherds pie was the best.

If you want a warm filling dinner on a cold Boston night, this is the place. I had the Irish sampler with a Guiness and was so stuffed I could not finish it.Later a guitar musician artrived and began to play some classic guitar songs for the customers. I only wish I could have stayed longer

I love going to local dives and pubs, as they have a better atmosphere than the fancy restaurants. This restaurant was no exception: it was full of locals enjoying a good meal, with reasonable prices and big portions. It was quite busy when we were here, so it took a while to get our waitress' attention so we could order.... More

We generally venture into an Irish pub wherever we are in the world. They always have a lot of atmosphere! This one was no exception. good beer, good food & live music. Great evening.

The food here was really good and very reasonably priced. Fish and chips are probably a staple. They have a nice beer selection. They also play traditional irish music. The only odd thing was the waitresses. They all spoke with an irish accent, but I'm not sure they were really from Ireland. As soon as my DH mentioned a small... More

A friend and I had a free evening at the start of a New England, Fall Foliage Tour and stopped into Mr. Dooley's for a beer. Bar service was very cordial. We were about to leave to find a dinner spot but decided to take a look at the menu which was so appetizing that we stayed. We each had... More

A friend if ours commended Mr Dooleys . we are from NY and he owns an Irish Pub there. So he knows the right place to go. I had an Irish Curry. Not really traditional but delicious. My Bride had the sampler and loved the Irish Stew. The Guinness was great and the bar had an old Irish Charm to... More

Great place to unwind and enjoy the atmosphere. Mr. Dooley's was a suggestion from our doorman at the Hilton. Just a block away and in the middle of all the hustle and bustle. Good drinks, good selection of beer,s and the food is restaurant quality not just bar food. The fish and chips are some of the best Boston has... More

We stopped here on a self guided Irish Pub tour, and we liked it so much we went back the next day. We had drinks and food and listened to music! If you like Irish pubs this place is a must!!

Thank Angel B

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
