I was not expecting to like Neptune Oyster as much as I did - given the hype and the expected wait. But they do a great job of making the wait easy on you. I put my name down and explored the North End. They...More

We put our name in at 5:00pm and got a table at 8:00pm. They were telling people at the door at 8:00 that they were full for the night. You can only put your name down in person but you can walk around and they...More

I wasn't sure what to expect walking in. To my surprise the place was "buzzing" in a good way. It wasn't uncomfortably loud, more on the organized action side. In my opinion if you're solo or as a couple, the bar is the best place...More

I'm not one to declare any place has "the best" of anything, I will say however you won't find a better lobster roll in Boston. Just expect to wait if you come with friends. Wait times often go above two hours. My advice would be...More

I visited Neptune Oyster about five years ago and remembered it as the most fantastic lobster roll ever. I've tried them many places since then. On my return to Neptune recently, I had to revisit the famous entree. Now I am certain it IS the...More

Neptune Oyster was great, and the Lobster Roll was phenomenal no doubt about it. The service was very fast (even though the hostess was a bit rude) and the waiter / bar-backs were very polite and efficient. It is known and talked about in Boston...More

You know when you go here that you'll have to add your name to a list and wait c2 hours for a table. But what you don't expect is to be told that you can't be added to the list if you are from outside...More

Neptune Oyster was recommended by our hotel and it was an excellent choice. Had the hot lobster roll that came with salad or fries. I had the salad and it was amazing as well. Delicious!!!!!! Next time I would try the cold lobster roll, just...More

Each time I walked by the many shops offering lobster rolls, I told myself to hold out for what is said to be the best; Neptune Oyster. Our wait, at 2:00 PM on Monday was an hour and 45 and we were hungry. We went...More

24 hours in Boston isn't enough time to eat and sample the food in the city. After some research we settled on Neptune Oyster for lunch. We showed up 30 minutes before it opened and the was already a line. It's a pretty small place,...More

Sadly, no. The best thing to do is to have them write down your name then wait for a call. Even if you can't receive a call, put your name down and run to one of the Pastry shops around the corner and get cannoli. You'll... More

Where do you go while waiting for a table? There is usually a long wait, which we don't mind a bit because we are prepared for it. In nice weather we could hang out and walk along the Rose Kennedy Greenway, but we are going in late March and the weather will not be that great for outdoor activities. Any bars that are close and are good for a quick drink while we wait?
