Good ambiance, good service, good wine, mostly good food. However, my order of linguine with clams was not good. Clams were rubbery and sauce was tasteless. The manager brought me another dish. Clams were better (but not great) but the sauce was still tasteless. Dessert...was good.More

Very welcoming place, very friendly staff. Reasonable prices (in any case we are in the USA) Italian cuisine not always interpreted at its best. The mixed starter and rigatoni with tomato sauce were good. Correct pasta cooking, al dente, linguine with clams a free interpretation,...a little brothy and with shellfish to support it which I would have avoided. Perhaps a trip for the chefs to Italy would be useful, however generous doses and great commitment. Absolutely worth tryingMore

I went through hundreds of reviews to get to this place. It didn't disappoint. There were six of us--starters: Beef Carpaccio-- two Europeans had that and loved it. Then four people shared the chopped salad for 2 which they split for us in advance. Everyone...liked it-- full of goodies. Dinner: two spaghetti alle vongole-- (pasta with clams) one person thought it needed more garlic and crushed red pepper, the other person liked it much more. I had the Burrata cheese and half portion of pasta Carbonara. Both Excellent. Two people had lobster ravioli and loved it. Service was excellent. Vibrant place but we could talk. Great location. Understand the Lasagna is great but we couldn't eat that much.More

Wow! This was one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Drinks were well made. We ordered the antipasto which was delicious and plenty to share. The bread and olive oil was delicious. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana and the veal on the bone...parmigiana which came with a large side of bolognese pasta. The veal was delicious and large enough to share. The eggplant was just okay.More

During our recent trip to Boston, my wife and I treated the daughter of our next-door neighbor, who lives in the area, to dinner at Tresca. We had a wonderful dinner together. We shared a bottle of an enjoyable rose. My pollo bella bocca had...a large chicken breast, very tender, served with a marsala sauce, provolone cheese, spinach, and some pasta. Very tasty & satisfying. Good sized portion, but able to finish. The family friend had the black truffle gnocchi, made with ricotta cheese instead of potato. She was happy. The sauce was very good My wife had the Bolognese, tagliatelle pasta with beef & sausage, and a rich tomato sauce. She was very happy, but only able to eat about half the very large portion. Prices were a little on the high side, $185 for dinner, wine, tax and tip, but the high quality of the food, combined with good service by Felipe C, made the meal worth the cost.More

Dinner at Tresca was the best meal I had during my 5-day visit to Boston! My family had dinner at this restaurant years ago and raved about the lobster scampi. Seriously, they were still talking about this dinner years later when reminiscing about their trip...to Boston. When they learned that I was staying in Boston, they INSISTED that I go to Tresca and get that lobster scampi. Upon arrival, I learned that the lobster scampi was no longer on the menu. I happened to see Chef Ansara (co-owner of the restaurant) at the hostess desk while I was waiting to be seated. I casually asked him if he was willing and able to make me that lobster scampi. He said, "Sure! No problem." I was so happy, I asked if I could hug him. He obliged. I then proceeded to have the most delicious lobster scampi I've ever had. He came to our table to check on us and I had to hug him again for making such a delicious meal happen! Now I too will be reminiscing about my dinner at Tresca for years to come.More

Tresca has all the makings of a great spot. Dining room has its charm, especially downstairs. They have a good wine selection and the menu offers options for just about everybody. Our server was fine but the other supporting staff were first rate - very...kind, friendly and polite. Unfortunately I think we must have got the kitchen on an off night as our food didn’t hold up to all the other great reviews I read before booking. Hence my rating of only 4 stars ((I’d give it 4.5 if I could). So while we may not have experienced the best Tresca has to offer, it has all the makings of a great spot and I’d still go back and give it another shot. And I plan to do just that on my next visit to Boston.More

This is my favorite restaurant in the North End. There are so many to choose from but the trifecta of atmosphere, service, and delicious food makes Tresca the winner! I love the carbonara and the stuffed meatball appetizer. My daughter had Bolognese, delicious!!! And you...can taste the freshness of the Pasta. Chef Rich makes his way to every table to express his gratitude and genuinely wants to know what you think. Don't get overwhelmed by all the choices, just choose Tresca!More

Tried the Ray Bourque Special, which was the best Veal Parm I ever had. Portion was huge, and the side of pasta bolognese was over the top. Eggplant parm was fabulous. Service was excellent, chef Richard made the rounds and greeted our table. Super friendly...atmosphere. Visiting from New Jersey, where there's no shortage of good Italian restaurants. Tresca tops them all. A must do when Visiting Boston.More

We followed the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to try a weekend dinner at this restaurant. The restaurant is located on Hanover Street in the North End and is two stories, with seating upstairs overlooking the street activity. This is a white tablecloth dining experience,...and it earns the good reviews. We each ordered different entrées and then shared the tiramisu. Each meal was outstanding. The staff was attentive and well-organized. The atmosphere was moderately quiet and seemed to have mostly family gatherings. The food, atmosphere, and wait staff earn the high marks this restaurant consistently receives.More
