We ate here twice for lunch during our visit to Boston. Both times the hamburgers served with fries ($15) were delicious. It is a busy place so we would recommend making a reservation. The food and the service were both great. We would return.

Stopped here today for lunch while in Boston. Enjoyed sitting at a high top near the bar. Had a delicious Hamburger. Asked to swap the fries for a salad which was easily done and appreciated. The salad, however, was just greens. It could have had...More

This restaurant makes you feel like you are in Balthazar in NY- good food- it gets busy beyond comfort is the only negative...not worth dealing with crowds .it isn't Balthazar, only looks like it!

A stones throw from Fenway Park after a lively hurling match, ES is the place to be! Warm banter fills this spot paired with a delicious burger cooked to perfection! The complimentary pickled veg., and bread basket were a nice offer upon arrival!

The ES was suggested to us by the staff at the Buckminster Hotel. We were late for lunch and early for dinner. We were seated in a little alcove in the front of the restaurant. Our seats were extremely comfy and the staff was there...More

Pleasant room, acceptable noise level, traditional "Frenchish" menu. Food was good, prepared properly, meat as requested, timely service, interesting desserts. I thought the wine list was weak - heavy French, not enough bottle under $80 dollars, skimpy by the glass pours.

The food looked tasty as it kept going by us at the bar, while we waited for our 8pm reservation to be honored. "Just a few more minutes, your table is lingering, they will leave soon" is what we heard as we kept asking why...More

I would call the restaurant. One of our party asked for gluten/free bread and was told there wasn't any. However, the server brought a little dish of some kind of cold marinated veggies that she was happy with.

Agree about calling ahead and asking. It is a very large room, but crowded. Also, check and see if there are any events occurring that date because that makes a huge difference in boston. Graduations, marathons, Red Sox... More

I suggest you call the restaurant as soon as possible. It was pretty busy when we were there but we got in because we only needed a table for 3. Arranging big parties should always be done ahead of time. Have a good time!
