Recently posted about another experience at another Boston steakhouse that was, to quote a certain someone, "SAD". Not the case here. The hostess was pleasant and then the manager took us to our seats and made small talk including at the end wishing my wife a happy birthday. Shortly after getting settled our waiter, Sean, stopped by and also wished... More

I went there for restaurant week during lunch. I was glad I had made a reservation since it was packed! Everybody from the hostesses to the servers was kind and helpful. They offered their opinions when asked - and never once made me feel awkward for going to a steak house and not ordering steak. The salmon was some of... More

The food was excellent, as always. However, I only gave 4 stars as we had an 11:30 reservation for a group of 13 which we had confirmed that morning. They didn't seat us until noon. It appeared that they weren't prepared but the service was good once we were seated.

We visited on the wrong day. They had a special event on and the place was simply too busy. We managed to get a seat in the bar rather than in one of the smaller restaurant rooms which is why it wasn't the best of experiences. Our table seemed to be served by no particular waiter which took the tarnish... More

For dinner here with friends and as usual we were not disappointed! Our annual visit to Boston would not be complete without at least one evening at Ruth Chris. No matter what choice you make from the menu it is always fantastic, you can't make a bad choice here and the wine selection is always excellent. One thing we love... More

The restaurant is located in a repurposed city government building. Very nice. We were seated in a small room overlooking the courtyard at the front enterance. The room was dark. I used my cell phone camera light to read the menu. Our table was tiny, providing barely enough room for what we ordered. We had an early reservation, 6 PM... More

As expected, food was fantastic and outstanding service. The restaurant is very nice and once you are done and ready to ask for your check, you can always faint at the cemetery conveniently located right in front of the restaurant.

Visited for an early dinner on Jan 30 with my nephew, his wife and their two small children. Service was precise and unobtrusive. Mary was our server and she could not have been nicer! She quickly accommodated our every need, sometimes before we even realized we needed it! The food was delicious - expertly prepared and served hot. I honestly... More

My boyfriend and I went to Ruth Chris while we were in town before a concert. We have tried every steak house in the city. My boyfriend said, this is the best steakhouse in Boston! The atmosphere was fantastic! Tony, at the bar was entertaining and knowledgeable. He suggest we try a specific red wine. We did and we ended... More

Enjoyed a great piece of steak at this restaurant, one of the best I've had. Ordered baked potato with sour cream and mushrooms to go with the meat. I found the potato quite dry in the centre but enjoyed it all the same because I just used some butter left over from the bread that was brought the start, and... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
