There are so many Asian and Korean options around this area. This one is likely the worst. The food didn't look appetizing, the soups were too spicy (and I always ask for extra sauce to be brought out), the Bibimpap was too sweet, the food didn't come out all at the same time, the atmosphere is equivalent to a quick... Delighted to find this modest but excellent place, thanks to previous astute reviewers. The menu includes nods to other Asian dishes, but is largely Korean. (If you're not that familiar with the cuisine, the short video on their website may give you some ideas for ordering.) The music videos may need to be turned down a bit, but there were... More

During my brief 7-day-trip to Boston, I kept coming back to Hanmaru. Not only doez Hanmaru offer a cozy and familiar setting, but the food there is also great. Portions are huge, definitely worth every penny, and the chef there, Wahyu, is also congenial to his customers. Definitely a Boston gem

I occasionally go to hanmaru when i visit allston. Though it is not 100% korean restaurant, (they have thai and other asian food) the korean food that they serve is very authentic and tasty. Try 'gam ja tang' here if you like korean food. You will definitely love it! Also, the servers are friendly as well.

Recently tried this restaurant on a Saturday night. Busy with almost every table filled, (we had to sit in the back near the kitchen), but you don't go here for the atmosphere anyway. Service was good, and focus is definitely Korean food. I think we were the only table that wasn't filled with young Korean adults/college students. We had the... More

Although this restaurant offer food from Japan, China and Thailand in their menu, it is mainly Korean. Inside is clean and well organized. They have good service and stuff has always been very friendly. I have tried many items from the menu and never disappointing. However, my favorite dish is Kimchi Pancake..it is crispy, little spicy, absolutely delish. Their "Gungol"s... More

I've been here approximately 10-15 times. Though i have tried many different items on the menu, the only item worth getting here is the gamjatang - it's large enough for 2-3 people and its spicy and delicious!

This is a pretty decent restaurant. Average 10-20, depending on what kind of food you want. I have been there once with my girl friend. We ordered ramen and beef stew, both are cheap and delicous. Will definitely come back.

been there twice now. they took up this huge restaurant space, did almost nothing with it: it's like a big empty warehouse you're meant to eat in (no galbi tables or exhaust pipes). the food is more expensive than all the other korean restaurants in the area, and nowhere near as good. in everything I've had, the gochu-jjang is heavily...
