Good French Onion Soup, and rich Boneless Short Ribs Bourguignon with potato croquette. Don't order the 6 Burgundy Escargot - I've had much better and these were tough, like little superballs. Beautiful lighting, and be sure to ask for a table near the door/windows away...from the kitchen. It can be very loud. Service was ok. My Short ribs came out while I was still eating the soup and escargot and the man that brought it seemed very annoyed at me for asking them to hold it as there wasn't room on the table for two. Waitress stepped in and took care of it. Going to try it for lunch.More

The stars were aligned on a wintry Monday night when we went in without a reservation and there was 1 table available. Wonderful ambience to the restaurant and the food was excellent start to finish; highlights were the mixed salad, delicately dressed; the butter so...good we asked for a second round to slather on the fine bread; the cabbage soup with duck was both unusual and excellent; the lamb shanks were perfectly cooked and the scallops were New England's finest. Service by Eunjoo was attentive without being intrusive. The whole experience was one we look forward to repeating.More

Food is excellent. We have had Emily as our server the two times we’ve been there and she is attentive, engaging, humorous, and extremely helpful. We look forward to going back…soon!

Great location and a wonderful French restaurant. Our waitress was very attentive and gave us good service. We were tourist in Boston and this is a nice change from seafood and Italian food. That seems to be prevalent there. The only reason I’m rating this...as a four-star is that the main dish on the menu I wanted to try was unavailable and the pate didn’t come with any type of toast just bread.More

Unfortunately we were not thrilled with the fish last night. We ordered skate and it was really tough. The late was wonderful though as well as the soufflés for desert. But I wouldn’t recommend for the fish. I was only able to taste it and...couldn’t continue. The server was friendly and attentive but because we were treating our friends last night we could not have complained last night.More

If you have never been to Paris, a visit to this restaurant will take you there for the evening. The vibe is bistro-perfect. The service is excellent. The food is as good as we have ever had in France. Below are photos of our meal...for two; Country Pate, Cod filet with mushroom sauce, and Duck Marget with red cherries and asparagus gratin. We did not have room for dessert. With Boston being one of the most expensive cities in America, this restaurant is also a bargain. Bon Appetit.More

From the tasty, fresh bread to the luscious desserts- everything about our meal at Ma Maison was excellent. Service was superb- friendly and discreet. The preparation of each dish was made with care and with quality ingredients. We ordered the lobster bisque, short ribs and...steak frites and could not find fault with any. Our desserts of crème brûlée and macarons were authentic and decadent. Cannot wait for our next meal at Ma Maison!More

We had tickets to the Eagles concert at Boston Garden and found this spot - a 10 minute walk away. We advised the waitress that we needed to be mindful of time and she was wonderfully responsive. We started with 2 Vodka Martinis that were...superbly crafted along with an order of their phenomenal escargot. Oh, did I mention how warm and welcoming the atmosphere is? After our appetizer, my wife enjoyed the lamb shanks while I feasted on the short ribs bourguignon. Both dishes were served with the most amazing sauce - I really don't know which was better. We ended the dinner with a 20year tawny port that was also excellent. Kudos to our server Julia who made the meal even more special with her impeccable service. We'll be back for sure.More

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise and one of the best French restaurants outside of France that I have seen. Small, packed even on a rainy Tuesday night and with really good food. My French colleague was very impressed, not only with his steak but...also with the profiterole (“one of the best I had in a long time”). My cod was also delicious. Service was quick and reasonably friendly but could have been a touch more attentive. And while we did not feel rushed, a little more time between appetizer and main course would have been more French-style. Price was actually reasonable. Would highly recommend.More

Arrived on time for reservation but had to wait outside in the rain for 15 minutes while others were seated ahead of us. Aside from the host who was non-apologetic ("there, you got your menus before them"), waitstaff were friendly and attentive. Most of the...food was average, including pate and green salad with fried goat cheese and tomato slice. High point was steak frites; low point was pan-seared (somewhat dry) sting ray atop lukewarm white rice and carrot shavings. Really wanted to like this French spot, but there are other more deserving restaurants in Boston.More

Best lobster bisque ever. Lots of big lobster chunks, so unlike most others. Perfectly flavored. Salad choice of Belgian endive, brie, pear not so great. Purple tomatoes good. Dressing not noticeable. Pear too soft. Thankfully, bill adjusted. It’s a favorite restaurant we’ve been to several...times, so this one I just won’t order again.More
