While staying at the Sofia Hotel, we ate here one evening. We had a very friendly waiter, Daniel, who really was a pleasure. We happened to come at Happy Hour, so we had several small plates on the cheap! Beer was cold and delicious and we had one of the gourmet Popcorns of the Moment, the Sepulveda Sausage with Fennel... The entrance was under renovation when we were there which made it very noisy. I'm sure it is complete by now. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very high quality.

Let's keep this sweet and to the point: the salmon dish was off the hook, and the french onion soup was absolutely fly. Unfortunately, we can't say the same about the salad - but that isn't a reason to not come here. We stayed at the Sofia Hotel (just upstairs) and didn't plan on coming down, but were pleasantly surprised!... More

During a 10-day stay in San Diego for conferences, I enjoyed eating here 3 times. Two of the three meals, a lunch and a dinner, were with business associates. The third was when my wife visited and we had our wedding anniversary dinner here. We all enjoyed the relaxed vibe of this American version of a French Bistro. I preferred... More

HUBBY SAID THEY WERE THE BEST PORK CHOPS HE'D EVER HAD! We frequent the Civic Theater downtown San Diego from time to time and we're always looking for a nearby place to dine beforehand. I think we just found our new favorite place to do that! Not having a reservation for the restaurant side, we found a cozy window table... More

Thanks so much for your review! Absinthe is becoming very popular ever since Van Gogh loved it lol! We are happy that you tried it and liked our presentation. We might do an Absinthe tasting class next month, so let me know if you would be interested in attending. Cheers and have a great Holiday! Lindsay More

Very nice restaurant. Good service and good food. Not too expensive. I would have liked another scallop or two in the risotto. The steak was more than adequate and very tasty. I liked the menu too.

Visiting my sister and her hubby in SD we decided to go for a late lunch early dinner. We got the beignets as an appetizer with the different sauces/dips. Sooo delish! They are not the same as true New Orleans French Quarter, Cafe Du Monde beignets but they were yummy in their own right. Lighter and fluffier. The sauces were... More

My breakfast was very good - I had a special of the day and loved it. My friend and a skillet breakfast and found it dry and lacking flavor. The orange juice was fresh and very good. The coffee not so much. The Beignets with both the Nutella and Lemon Curd dip were Yummy. Not as good as Cafe du... More
