The interior of the restaurant is subdued and pleasant, although because it was a sunny day, on this lunch visit we chose to sit outside. The waiter was friendly and helpful, although when I ordered the soup of the day, he brought me their signature onion soup. Since it was piping hot and its aroma was inviting, I did not... More

Horrible food served here, even made us feel sick, beer was hot, did not change plates or silverware, mushroom soup was all milk, tartare steak disgusting who knows what meat they used, some oil on salad no salt, dessert was out of a can like, all plates were bad

We were not sure where we were going to eat since we don't know Hillcrest that well and since we were with my BF's dog. We just happened upon Au Revoir Bistro and I checked my Yelp app to get their number. I called and they said that they are dog friendly! We were here for breakfast. I ordered crepes... More

I asked for two glasses of white "house" wine ($16), mentioned something light "like" a Sauvignon Blanc and got charged for a regular Sauvignon Blanc of $24 + $4 tip (paid for by my first-time-to-USA visitor from Rome before I could watch the oversight) in a quick mid-Saturday afternoon stop. The waiter was rude, arrogant and admitted his error (about... More

Stopped here to grab a quick nibble and glass of wine before catching a movie in the area. Loved the octopus salad and calamari. Just wish they offer anything other than tartar sauce with the calamari. The vinaigrette on the Saad was so light but very flavorful. Definitely coming back for dinner. Great to have off street parking available.

I went last night and the service was appalling. I can only guess that the kitchen forgot to cook my plate, because my three dinner companions were served and the waiter walked away. Somewhere between 7-10 minutes after my friends were served I went to the kitchen window where the waiter was (he had not be back to check on... More

While I read many good revues about this French Bistro, one person speaking French does not make a French restaurant. While our steak au poivre and fish were cooked well, overall seasoning and the Foie Gras was much less than expected. Staff was very friendly and service was good. Would we return again? Maybe.

Very disappointed with our dinner. Came New Year's Day. We have been here many times and the food and service was always great. Tonight was a bad experience. I ordered the Lobster Bisque soup and found it too fishy tasting. Ordered the Ceser's salad and received the house salad instead. I accepted it and it was very good. The lavender... More

“Au revoir” is French for “Good Bye, or Until the Next time”. Well, in our case it was first time, last time! Fresh out of screening La La Land in Landmark Hillcrest, we plan to have lunch in an Italian place nearby, but run, by chance, into Au Revoir. The French portion of my blood (I'm a mutt!) makes me... Excellent traditional French food. Very nice atmosphere with fast, friendly, service. Menu selection limited to about six traditional items. Very popular restaurant in Hillcrest area.
