I have been to this family-oriented place in Kearney Mesa for lunch twice, and had a very pleasant time both times. Lunch menu is designed for quick service. Location: strip mall on busy Convoy St near Balboa Ave. Mall parking limited; street parking looked tight. Food was great, and certainly great in quantity. I had a lunch of typical favorites,... The wife and I were craving some good ramen and decided to try this place. Wonderful flavorful broth. I got mine spicy and man was it good. Get fried garlic on your ramen. Soo good.

I have had 3 types of ramen there and the dumplings are excellent. When I need my ramen fix Tajima is the #1 contender in SD.

Was recommended Tajima by some friends who suggested coming early to ensure a parking spot and a short wait. Parking lot is not tiny but not big either and as we left during the dinner rush, I can definitely understand how difficult parking would be during high times. We arrived during a slower time and still waited about 5 minutes... More

I tried the ramen there with extra noodle in October 2016. The food was good. The extra noodle came in as another bowl in which the portion is almost the same as the original bowl. My two other friend had dinner boxes and they liked the food as well. The pricing was also quite acceptable. If I go to San... More

Tried their house ramen and the meat was too thick, extremely greasy and the overall taste was off. Ramen stew is supposed to be made from pork Bone, it did not taste as such. Although he place looks like not much from the outside, it is hip and modern on the inside. Tried the garlic Edamame and also was to... More

I really enjoyed this place. It's different and really tasty. I tried Tajima Ramon but asked for extra spices. It was great. The only problem you may experience is the parking.

I was very prepared to not like this restaurant as we waited & waited for a seat for a party of 4 watching other parties move past us for seating. Once we were seated, it took at least 5 minutes for someone to wait on us and they the drink order got messed up. But .... the food came. This... More

The food here was really really delicious. My family stumbled upon it by accident and we enjoyed every single item that we ordered - various ramen bowls, garlic edamame, pork dumplings and octopus fritters. It was the ramen that we compared all of the other ramen places up the coast of California to and none came close to the quality... More

Tajima Ramen was pretty good. What we wish could been better was the wait. The shop doesn't offer a whole lot of seating. If you have a large group, you only have two options - which means you're waiting around for 2-4 small tables to clear out before you can even be seated. Food was tasty though. Takoyaki was flavorful,... More
