Visit with the whole family and had a group of eight that fully enjoyed our dinner. All the dishes from pizza to a variety of pasta were enjoyed and the service from Kate was attentive . A wonderful dinner with family.

Pernicano's is a classic throwback Italian eatery. We had three really good pizzas, a tasty large antipasto salad that easily fed 6, and a carafe of Chianti. The charming owner, Mr. P. provided entertainment on the grand piano and the marimba. It's not fancy, but the service was quick and friendly.

This restaurant group has been around forever... from Hillcrest to Scripps Ranch to Rancho Penasquitos and PB/La Jolla areas... we ate at the Rancho Penasquitos location... easy freeway access and good menu with reasonable prices.

The food was delicious and the service was outstanding!! There were 12 of us and we never wanted for anything! The bread just melted in your mouth, the pasta sang to me, everything was so fresh!! Our waitress surprised us with a delicious dessert, of course no one can remember the name of them but they were like small crullers... More

Best thin crust pizza we have found in San Diego area!! Definitely a "locals spot" can't wait to go back. Loved John, the piano player/owner.

The food is average, if you are looking for top notch Italian food, look elsewhere. What Pernicano's lacks in cuisine, however, is more than made up for by being inexpensive, super family & kid friendly oriented & providing live entertainment. Mr. Pernicano (easily in his 80's) sings & plays the piano. My kids absolutely love this place. They sit at... More

My family has been coming here for 50+ years. It's been a staple stop when we all come back into town to visit our parents. Visiting La Jolla wouldn't be the same if we didn't stop in. John has been playing the piano and entertaining small children for decades. His daughters and staff are all friendly and quirky additions to... More

We have been coming here for almost 20 years. The atmosphere is very homey, and the food is always great. There is a one visit salad bar that is more than adequate. The bread consists of warm rolls and butter. Yum! The pasta sauce is sweet and tomatoey!!! Pasta is perfect. The meatballs and sausage are the best I have... More

Have been going for pizza every time we have been in the area. We first went there in 1986 while on vacation from Canada. Love to watch kids eat and play in the gondola. All the Works pizza is the best I've had. John, the owner is well know for playing his piano and entertaining everyone. He even does Happy... More

This truly family owned and operated restaurant has been a favorite haunt of mine since I was young enough to play in the gondola that is in the "family" area of the restaurant. The kids play all over this huge boat which is in the center of the room and meet new friends while playing so the parents can keep... More
