I've been to a few Indian restaurants in the UK, Europe, and the US. In my opinion, Indian restaurants should stop trying to present their dishes on a buffet line. It's better as an entrée. The buffet table is nice and tidy. The dishes tended to have a lot of sauce poured over meat (chicken or goat) and/or vegetables. I... More

We tried various Indian restaurants in San Diego and most were either overpriced or didn't taste good. We discovered Village Indian 7 years ago and have been eating there 2-4 times a month ever since. The place is low-key and small, but the taste of the food is excellent and consistent. We have brought many guests to eat there and... More

Honestly my first real taste on Indian food was this place a few years abck and I decided I didn't like Indian food. Luckily since then I have tried it at other places and really like Indian food. So I went back this week for the lunch buffet. Most of there dishes are bland veggies in sauce. The naan bread... More

My husband enjoys Indian food and is very picky. I found this place on Yelp and my husband and picky children were very satisfied with our food. My husband selected butter chicken, I had chicken Karahi, and children had tandoori chicken. The plates are large enough to feed a couple so we over ordered but very delicious and well worth... Never been in India so can not say if the taste is the same there but the food here tastes very good. This is the second I visit this place with my wife and we went back because the Chicken Tikka Masala here is very good. This time we also ordered some fried vegetables and fried fish, they were out... More

If they think its good, then it probably is good. Seems good to me. Not the best, but better than many. Clean place.

Village Indian has an inexpensive lunch buffet and one of the customers told me it was his favorite place in San Diego, I found the food okay, not very flavorful and a limited but okay buffet. I wouldn't go back when there are better places in the San Diego area. I don't mind paying $12.00 for a more extensive buffet... More

Limited selection in buffet and the girls working there must really hate their jobs. You had to ask them to refill buffet trays as they seemed uninterested in keeping tabs on it themselves. Not and thank you or smile from either one of them.
