No atmosphere but we didn't care. The food was made fresh and the service was excellent. The Israeli breakfast was delish and very plentiful. The grilled cheese was outstanding! There are many Israeli dishes, eggs, wraps and salads to choose from. A variety of coffees, teas and juices as well. Price point is awesome!

Very much enjoyed my breakfast here of classic shakshauka and kale whale juice. While travelling I had with colleagues the first time and returned solo for a repeat as I enjoyed it so much. The gentleman who served me the second time was worried the juice would not be sweet enough for me as it had 'no fruit' but that's... More

I had a brunch at this place, the food was good, the price was sweet and well situated in the area. A small regret, the salad was not fresh...

Pros: super affordable, fresh made-to-order, friendly service. Cons: not much of an atmosphere, they were out of a lot of stuff for 7:00 on a Tuesday. I was going to a concert at the 92nd street Y. Looked up places to eat nearby and found Effy's. Never even knew it existed. Very helpful box office guy directed us to the... More

Small place with a decent menu and fair prices: latte: $3.50; large fruit salad $3.50; sausage omelette $8.95; waffles $8.95. Food is worth going back for. Main gripe is being seated at a table with a dirty/used paper cover. Effy's uses butcher block paper to cover its tables and appears to change the paper haphazardly, so you may be staring... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
