It is always a treat to enjoy the ambience and food at The Grand Tier. Every table was full as is often the case when the performance is sold out. I went with two friends and we were all so pleased. You can get in with reservations two hours before the performance starts. I had Eggs Benedicte and am delighted... More

The Grand Tier will feed you elegantly without fuss and get you to the overture on time. The smoked salmon is always divine and we had the steak which was perfect. Wines are of very high quality, as are the desserts. Chocolate soufflés abounded all around us. The service is quick, pleasant and unobtrusive. We asked for extra chocolates and... More

We dined here before a performance on a Monday evening. Anyone reading this review will know how magnificent the location is, with the Chagall murals and the grand staircase on one side and the magnificent views of the Josie Robertson Plaza on the other. The food and service were peerless; not ostentatious but first-rate. The staff is well-practiced at ensuring... More

Treated my mum to her birthday and mother's day. It was a nice atmosphere and we arrived in time for a short performance by an opera singer. We all liked our food however I feel the starters are limited and would have liked a meat option or a couple other veggie options if not. The waiters were great, forever filling... More

This was our second trip to the Met and after observing people eating on the grand tier level we decided to give it a try. Very surprised by how good the food is. Arrive two hours before the show, eat and drink everything except your dessert. Return to your table for dessert during the first intermission. Very efficient use of... More

The Opera Brunch was delicious. Good food, service and atmosphere. The music was wonderful...but so short...only 15 minutes for the first seating (12:15-12:30p). This is the reason for the average rating. The Met should play recorded music for the patrons the other times. It seemed a bit weird to market a brunch as a music event with such a short... More

So this is located on the second floor of the Metropolitan Opera House. We went for sunday brunch because it advertised up and coming opera singers and pianist would provide entertainment. Our reservation was for 1130am and the brief 4 piece show started promptly at 1215p. The food was OK. I think the entire idea was to provide an opportunity... More

The Grand Tier restaurant is on the Grand Tier level at the Metropolitan Opera. Dinners are ordered prior to the performance. Appetizer and main entree are served during the first intermission. Dessert and coffee/tea are served during the second intermission. You do not feel rushed and generally have more than enough time to eat a full dinner.
