Just a perfect place for a memorable gastronomic experience. Last time we have been to Bar Boulud in February and equally rated it 5 stars, though certain service issues had to be corrected, but our last visit was a complete and total satisfaction. We even felt that we were close to start cheating on our favorite DB Bistro Moderne, another... More

If you're not familiar with Mr. Boulud google him. This is a small, tastefully done restaurant that should satisfy many types of diners: epicures, speed eaters, convivial folks and more. Booths accommodate up to 4, and the bar hosts an everchanging assortments of diners. When my wife and I ate there we sat next to a woman who regaled us... More

I had lunch at this restaurant on Saturday, May 20. The noise level inside seemed high for me so we sat outside. Unfortunately, not much better with the high traffic volume on Broadway and the bus stop right on that block. I am particularly sensitive to noise, so perhaps this would not have bothered most people, but it made the... More

Dear Mary, It can get lively on a Saturday so I am sorry the noise level was uncomfortable for you. However, I am very happy you enjoyed your Jambon Beurre sandwich with our house-made ham, and especially delighted by your compliments for the Warm Pistachio Clafoutis dessert. Thank you for sharing your experience here, and we hope to welcome you... More

Sit outside and smell the car fumes- not my cup of tea. Sit inside and relax in this unpretentious restaurant. Service is good, not great . Appetizers of frisee salad with lardons and a poached egg was expertly prepared. I had the Lyonnaise sausage in a puffed pastry that they added a sauce to. Very bland sausage and the puff... More

A little disappointed, really.... Absurd wine markups(I'm a some for a living, really), and while I respect the rent that they must pay, it's a bit krazy to see prices like this...6X markups are just unfair. Secondly, the attitude of the hosts seems to me to be a trifle, well, snobby and off- putting There is sooo much staff just... More

Good restaurant with with many classic French choices . All good. Recommend Nicoise Salad, Trout with broccoli, rice pilaf and almonds, Spinach pasta with duck ragout and Steak Frites. For desert we loved Assortiment de Petits Fours: macarons, bonbons and pâte de fruit pistachio financier to share. There is a pre-fix three-course lunch for $32. Good friendly service.

We went for a pre-theatre dinner, as the location just across the street from the Lincoln Center was ideal for that. It is a very lively and rather loud place, shaped like a tunnel, so that it may feel a little cramped inside. The charcuterie this place is famous for was excellent and the wine list has been deservedly praised.... More

Have been to Bar Boulud several times and always have had great service, no 'attitude' and terriffic food. The fancier, Boulud Sud, could take a lesson from their neighbor on the UWS!

We ate here for my wife's 40th birthday, prior to a broadway show. Our scallops and trout were excellent. We also enjoyed apps of French onion soup and a salad. The desserts were phenomenal. The best upscale eating around Lincoln Square is Bar Boulud, a French bistro. We eat there often before opera or ballet or theater. All dishes are great - we had pate and quiche for lunch.
