Our concierage suggested we try this old but newly refurbished bistro for lunch. Good decision. Well located and pretty. The food was amazing and very French. Excellent wine list.

Beautiful bar and restaurant. Fabulous and well priced wine list. Food and portions variable from perfect foie gras and roasted duck to bland tiny circular salmon, huge portion almost for two of calve's liver with onions and potatoes but perhaps previously frozen, bland liver. Have enjoyed flawless dinners in their private rooms but more random in the restaurant. However when... More

Had our last dinner here before leaving town. Friendly place, traditional Parisian interior. Veal liver with potatoes and onions tasty, traditional style. Salmon well cooked, but bernaise not quite right. Profiteroles at end OK, with separate chocalate and ice cream. But charging $7 a bottle for still water poured from the tap is not good.

Four of us went to dinner the night after Thanksgiving wanting something genuinely French. We were not disappointed. For me, the quenelles in sauce Nantua were terrific. These are baked in the sauce with cream added when served. Sweetbreads were very good as were the Salmon and scallops. Vegetables excellent. The only misses were sweetbreads were only warm and the... Have been to this restaurant many times over the years & loved the traditional french bistro menu. Have also sat in the bar & eaten and always thoroughly enjoyed both parts of the restaurant. Went last night for the first time since they did some renovation. Still very good but i think the new menu is lacking some of the... More

Typical French bistro with everything you expect on the menu. Escargots were very nice, entrecôte is also very good. Steak tartare was not the best I've had.

I love this spot and how they make my favorite dish - escargot capped with these lovely little bread wafers. Reasonably priced for French in Manhattan with consistently good to great food and service.

Not realising what cafe/restaurant we were dropping into, we thought this looked a nice place to try a bowl of French onion soup. It was only when we were seated in the bar/cafe area and looked at the menu that we realised where we were. The welcome and service were so welcoming and the soup was out of this world.... More

Benoit is a French Brasserie that has a famous and popular location in Paris as well as its twin in NYC. The establishment in NYC is a pale relative to the Paris version. While the look and feel of the NYC location reminds you of the Paris version the food comes up a little short. That being said it was... More

Last time we have been to Benoît was over five years ago, in July 2011, and we simply fell in love with it. We liked so much more than its more famous namesake and progenitor, Benoît on rue Saint-Martin, in the 4th arrondissement. But things change. One has to bear in mind that the world famous chef Alain Ducasse reigns... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
