Started of with fried Calamari. It was soggy and 17 dollars for a very small portion. I ordered a Chicken Gennaro again very small portion chicken was very tough, I've never had chicken so tough. My daughter ordered Ravioli. The Ravioli itself was ok but the spaghetti sauce is horrible. My son had chicken Parm but again the sauce was... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend of my daughter. I won't be making the same recommendation. Although we had not booked we were seated fairly quickly. We were led down through a back stairway, past the kitchen and into a room that was crammed tight with tables. I had to squeeze into my chair as it could not be... More

I went to this place with a group of people. The service was so unorganized that we started to wonder if we were the first group this restaurant had ever had - even the cook came out of the kitchen to size us up! The dishes were mediocre at best: severely overcooked pasta, strange combinations of items (I have never... More

We went here for my wife's birthday, during our holiday on the East Coast. We ended up waiting for a while for a table so I'd recommend booking in advance. There was a Kosovan guy outside coordinating everything who was very friendly and we had a great chat with to pass the time (FAO the restaurant owner - this guy... More

My family and I have been to Da Gennaro on more than one occasion and to this day we always ask for Charlie to take care of us. Charlie has worked at the restaurant since ever since my husband and I started dating back in 2012 and every time we go we are always happy to see him. The food... More

Outstanding Osso Bucco from the specialties menu. Highly recommended with the Barolo red wine. So tender and smooth.

Part of our trip to NYC was a consolation trip for having our trip to Italy cancelled. For that hour lunch at Da Gennaro, we weren't missing Italy at all. The setting, the relaxed atmosphere, the service and the tastes! We were transported!

My niece and I stumbled upon this restaurant during a weekend trip to NYC. It's a small yet very busy restaurant. The food was fantastic. She had the spaghetti Bolognese and I had the eggplant parmesan. Fantastic!

Went for lunch, the calamari was outstanding. Chicken parm and lasagna both amazing as well. All were good sized lunch portions for a decent price. Cocktails were tasty but fairly pricey. Ordered from the cocktail menu, which doesn't have prices listed. Each cocktail was $15, probably wouldn't have ordered at that price.

Thank Christy N

Staying in Little Italy

Neighbourhood Profile
Little Italy
While Little Italy is one of the city's smallest neighbourhoods, its streets are packed with visitors from around the globe, especially on summer weekends when the streets are closed to traffic. Stroll up Mulberry Street, the heart of Little Italy, for a dense mix of Italian restaurants with sidewalk tables, cafes, and old-school food shops. Don’t be surprised when the hosts beckon you to pay them a visit. Stop in for a coffee and a cannoli, or grab a streetside table to take in the scenery over a hearty Italian meal.
