This steakhouse reminds one of the glory days of New York eateries. From the moment you enter, you will be catered to in style by waiters who know their business, and are able to assist you in answering any and all questions. They are true professionals. The ambience here is intimate and reminds you of old New York as well... More

Our favorite steak midtown New York. I ventured off the highlighted steak selections and tried the lamb -- glad I did !! Service , atmosphere, and food are the best - a wonderful evening for any occasion.

This was my third visit to this particular restaurant, and it didn't disappoint. I'm a philistine when it comes to food because I like my steak medium well. It was excellent, nicely cooked, full of flavour and wonderfully delicious. Great smashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts finished off the meal. The gentleman next to us had the hash browns and... More

Decided to try out another restaurant we had not been to before, and Bobby Van's looked like a good choice. We were right. My wife started with a wedge salad; the waiter asked full or half and she selected half, which was lucky- the half was large and tasty. I had the French Onion Soup which was very good served... Headed to Bobby Van's in between the matinee and evening show. My friends are regulars there but this was my first time. Menu looked good but pricey. I usually go for one expensive good meal each trip and this was it for this New York trip. It was freezing outside but quite comfortably warm where we sat. Our waittress was... More

I head to Bobby's about once a month, usually for a few drinks with friends or a later dinner. The steaks are among the best in town. The wait staff is friendly and cheerful, particularly the young ladies in the bar area where we usually sit.

Yes, it was very good experience. This is what I term a "nameplate" restaurant with "nameplate" prices. I expected more. I was part of a party of four guests whom were international tourists. I arrived separately from them and was pleasantly greeted and advised my party had not arrived. By the time I de-coated and hit the Men's Room, the... More

Bobby Van's, specifically this Bobby Van's use to be our family's favorite and a must stop for our trips to NYC, but the last three trips have been sub-par, primarily for service so we are striking it from our restaurants for NYC. Our most recent trip on December 18 started off a little rough because we couldn't get the time... More

We stepped in after The Rockettes Christmas show. Great chicken soup like my grandmother made it. Nice little starter salad with fresh figs and raspberry. Ribeye on the bone was massive and cooked perfectly as ordered. Chicken caprese was also nice. NY cheesecake was very good but please skip the strawberry sauce. It is the same convenient sauce that they... More

We were here 3 years ago and it was amazing. We have brought our daughters this time and they also think it's a brilliant place for drinks with atmosphere and great American food with a quirky twist!!

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
