I saw the sushi thru the window while walking thru koreatown. I ate at the sushi bar, had the sashimi plate. the fish served on the sashimi plate was really really high quality, tuna toro, yellowtail toro, live giant clam, salmon roe, fluke, sea urchin, etc the number of pieces of fish on my sashimi plate was very generous. they... With lot of options to have dinner in Koreatown, we chose this place. I had Pho, kind of vientamese ramen, really tasty. Portions are quite siezable and service was very friendly.

Chinese-Korean cuisine is rather particular and only to be found in Korea with its signature dish, 짜장면 (black bean sauce noodles aka jjajangmyeon). The noodles were pretty decent although a bit overcooked, the accompanying sweet & sour pork was forgettable. Service was conscientious-ish without a smile. The bill for two came to 30 USD. Not bad, just passable.

I begin writing my review without looking at past reviews for a restaurant. I don't want to be prejudiced against them, before I've reviewed them. Immediately when I entered I was seated, received a menu and a small appetizer was placed on the table. the restaurant was decorated with Asian artifacts and music played in the background. I had a... More

Hmmm - what to say? Interesting crossover korean/chinese? Maybe, but if so it turned out bland. I always get suspicious when you order asian food and the server brings it in less than 4 minutes. Is everything simmering on the stove back there in the kitchen? Or is woking simply so quick? Kind of strange since one of the dishes... More

Quite a surreal experience. tried to order what we thought was $5 beer advertised on board to be told it was more. Good choice. Green tea tasted nutty. Ordered starters and mains and enjoyed them. Odd rice cakes were chewy tubes. Staff offered us forks! Staff Paid attention to the opera. Akward walking past people listening to singers to restroom... More

Delucious food! Servings are big enough to get full, even when you are really hungry!! And to a reasonable price!

This place is absolutely awful. Cold and slimy food, weak drinks, and management that calls the police on their patrons for management's own mistake. I urge everyone to stay away.

We were in the mood for Korean food on this hot late July day in the city. Decided to go to Korea town, 32nd street and pick one of the dozens of Korean joints. Shanghai Mong is a very small place and looked inviting from the outside. We were already seated, when I realized that this is not a Korean... More

The portion was too small and it was expensive. The food didn't taste that great. The service was good and the waitresses were friendly.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
