Was a privilege being able to come into the James No-Mad and to sit down at the table in Scarpetta. When you first walk in the atmosphere is almost as if it’s a secret garden with ivy hanging from the ceiling when you first walk...More

We had a lovely dinner at Scarpetta. The space is large and beautiful. The tables are a bit close together but this is common in Manhattan. The clientele was quite mixed; from business diners to families to models, and everything in between. The service was...More

Truly some of the best pasta I have ever had in my life. The ravioli and spaghetti were PHENOMENAL. Service was fast and nice. We also ordered the octopus which was amazing as well and the beet salad, which was good but not as amazing...More

My husband and I had the opportunity to return to Scarpetta since it’s opening and it was just as great as the first time. This time we went with the scallops for appetizer and the spaghetti with tomato sauce and the cavatelli with goat cheese,...More

We ate Sunday brunch. First, it is very expensive, even for NYC standards. And I was also disappointed with portion size. We've eaten at many "fancy" and "trendy" restaurants and I understand the typical smaller portions, but this place almost went out of their way...More

The quality of food and service was great, but it was a little bit pricey. The table we were given wasn’t great, as we were very close to other tables.

Came here with some friends and had a great time. Food was phenomenal, people were beautiful, and the night life was on point. Downstairs is a pretty cool bar with live music. Make reservations ahead of time, reservations fill quickly here. Pasta was outstanding!

The bar is perfect for solo diners. It is small and cozy. If you want to enjoy a table, do it. Their service will be top notch no matter the number of guests!

Description
The Italian expression, "fare la scarpetta," describes the gesture of taking the little boot-shaped piece of bread to soak up the remaining sauce left in the pot of one's home kitchen. In 2008, Scarpetta received a James Beard nomination for 'Best New Restaurant in America' as well as a coveted three-star review from the New York Times.
