We had a lovely meal here, just the two of us. The setting was lovely, the service was very good and the food was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant definitely.

Good "globalized" indian cuisine in Midtown in a calm and polite atmosphere. Maybe better for couples and small groups.

I usually order take out from here once per week. It's pretty good Indian food - certainly the best I've had within a couple of blocks from my office. The prices is good too - about 10 bucks for a set lunch on week days. I think they also have an all you can eat buffet, which I haven't tried.

Not a 'destination' hotel, but if your hotel is nearby it is a good place for dinner. Spice level is to western taste, so if you like hot spiced food, tell them - or else it will be pretty mild. The portions are a good size, staff friendly.

On our spur of the moment NYC overnight at The Court hotel, we took to the street to find a place to eat. Great Indian Restaurant with wonderful attentive and no rush service. We ascended to the lovely small dining room and sat near a brick wall overlooking the street. Food was great - lamb korma - and an interesting... More

Just up the road from the Shelburne Hotel, opposite side of the road. It was recommended by the hotel and it's worth it. Could have sat in but fancied a lazy evening in our room. Food very good and enjoyable. The king prawn pilau rice is awesome.

I always go to Nirvana when I go to NYC. The food is excellent. They spice it down for the US consumer, which is fine ( you can always have it spicier), but to serve Masala Chai with cold milk on the side is the opposite of authentic. However, when I complained, Dominik offered to make me an authentic cup... More

I've been to some of the best high end Indians in Cardiff, Wales, and this up there with them for quality of food, taste and service. This meal was the best food we had out during our New York stay, by far. Pricey but worth it for a nice treat.

One of the finest Indian restaurants in Midtown Manhattan, Nirvana offers a unique and delectable Indian dining experience. Just a short walk from Grant Central, Nirvana frequently welcomes United Nations dignitaries and other high-profile clientele. Nirvana has a sleek, stylish interior design, highlighted by the exceptional Skylight Gallery Dining Room on the 2nd floor. The exposed brick walls and exotic aromas of Indian cuisine easily inspire a romantic dining atmosphere. The warm and welcoming lounge is a comfortable area in which to enjoy a pre or post-dinner drink from the bar, whilst relaxing in the enticing leather couches by the fireplace. Classic Indian dishes such as Chicken Tikka Masala are available, alongside the chef's irresistible signature creations. These include the Rabbit Fiesta - a hearty Rabbit Stew with chilli, peas and chutney - as well as light Vegetable Samosas and Chicken Stir Fry.
