This is a casual neighborhood spot with great ambiance, good food and great drinks. The menu had something for everyone (multi-generation) and service was excellent. This was my second time dining at Almond, and won't be the last. Weill be back again on future visits to NY.

Fairy lights on out side make the restaurant feel warming and welcoming. We had no reservation, but still turned up at the restaurant in hope to get served a day in the week. It was very busy, but a seat was given to us after ten minutes waiting. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere, soft background music, softly lit and... More

Almond has been around for a while. We had Saturday lunch/brunch. The place was a full but not noisy. The steak and eggs were good. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and the wedge salad very good. Very pleasant service and the waitress managed to get us three chocolate chip cookies instead of the cookie plate. A pleasant experience.

What an exciting place Almond is. It's got a smallish menu and a similar wine list but there are great options to be had. You could just order a set of appetizers (phenomenal flat bread, cauliflower, cheese plate) and almost skip the mains. I didn't and ordered the Moroccan lamb, which was a little too salty and hence my four... More

Really lovely place. Great for dinner or a cozy, casual drink. We started with the buffalo style cauliflower. Yum! Vegan but tasted like chicken wings. So good. A variety of the entrees were then ordered. All were absolutely delicious. Reasonably priced. We will be back

Invited by friends we came to this restaurant for dinner. Nice from outside and also warm atmosphere inside. Unfortunately food was very disappointing. The four of us didn't enjoy one single dish, everything was really disappointing, also the local specialty Buffalo Cauliflower was far too spicy. A couple of fish courses had bad smell, ingredients were not fresh. Dessert was... More

The meals were good farm-to-table but I would say rank on average or below taste from farm-to-table restaurants outside the city which are priced more reasonably.

Good food, good service, not rushed. What else do you want? The food was brunch style and the servings were not stingy

Description
Almond, an American bistro located in New York City’s bustling Flatiron District, combines the best of rustic French cuisine in a casually elegant atmosphere. Co-owner and Executive Chef Jason Weiner offers a menu of accessible dishes that put market-fresh ingredients center stage. Classic Almond dishes include Steamed Black Mussels with Shallots and White Wine and Roast Chicken with Hand-Crushed Potatoes and Natural Jus, while a list of “plats du jour” range from Roasted Whole Fish and Herritage Farms Porkchop to Rack of Lamb. The thoughtful wine list, handpicked by co-owner Eric Lemonides, offers an affordable selection of wines by the glass or bottle from regions across France and California. A specialty cocktail list, New York state craft beer selection, and raw bar selections are all available at the restaurant’s spacious 20-seat bar. Private dining spaces are perfect for larger parties and the European-style billiards room adds to the restaurant’s charm.

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
