Been there too many times to count. I think the first time it was in 2011. Never been disappointed. Fresh lobster from the Maine with a lot of flavor. Top this with some hot butter and pickles and a local beer and you got yourself a treat. I wish this place would exist worldwide. I wanted to try the truck... More

I friend told me, before you leave NY i have to take you to these amazing place. Well, months later i remember still the perfection of taste. We started with soup (sooo good) and of course the famous lobster roll. Ok, so in my turn i recommend this place before you leave NY!! (extra points for the cozy bar and... More

This was my first stop in New York shortly after arriving and it was one of the best things I ate in NYC. We only tried the lobster roll but I'm sure the other stuff on the menu was just as good. Note that it was very small inside for dining, probably 4 tables or so. We sat by the... More

Hey there, It makes us really happy to be one of your first stops after arriving in town and also one of the best dishes you had while visiting. Next time you visit, may I suggest giving our "Luke's Trio" a try? It contains a 1/2 roll of lobster, crab, and shrimp so that you can sample all of our... More

Hello, Happy to hear you were able to try all of our delicious rolls on your visit! Perhaps on your next visit you can try our yummy New England Style Clam Chowder or our Lobster Bisque soups. They are both gluten-free and made in small batches with lots of love. Rod rod@lukeslobster.com GM Luke's Lobster East Village More

This is a hidden gem that I'm glad we found! They have very fresh and delicious seafood. We ate the trio, the bisque, the claws, and lobster grilled cheese...everyone loved what they got! Very fast and friendly service too. Beware: no public restrooms!

Hello, Thank you for the awesome review! Glad everyone enjoyed their food and hopefully you all come back to visit us again soon. If you visit some of our larger and newer shacks, they not only offer public restrooms, they also offer different menu items such as beers, wines, and local desserts like blueberry pie or ice cream! Delicious quick eats - we shared a lobster roll, gruyere and lobster sandwich and a clam chowder. Perfect quick lunch, seriously tasty food!! This is a 'grab your food and go' place - wouldn't want to spend too much time in there as it's quite small and the smell of all the cooking is quite over-powering. FYI - doesn't serve... More

If you appreciate lobster, then this is the spot for you. I was a little taken aback by the prices. Yes, I know, it is seafood - better yet lobster but $21 for a sandwich, side and chips... I purchased the lobster sandwich, it is not a very large portion size. I was surprised that it was served cold, I... More

This place is in the "The Plaza" hotel and food court. There are plenty of things to choose from but I think Luke's is the best! I ate the trip. This was the crab, shrimp, lobster. There are no fillers in here. It is 100% meat in between these buns. It is 20.00 but so worth it. The lobster is... More

A hole in the wall but that is what this place is about. Come for the Lobster Roll. Expensive but a real pleasure to shell out the dough

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
