Ok so you are walking around Manhattan and you decide you want to pop in somewhere to try some good ole American made "hooch"(whiskey)...this place has it if you are a fan or would like to discover RYE. They have all price ranges and styles, a true Gem in the Flatiron/Chelsea area.

Called in here for a farewell drink - leaving town today. Lovely well stocked bar. Would have been fantastic - but no barman!!!! How could they have forgotten to engage the services of a barman? Eventually someone arrived - we were served - but I had to leave some of my drink behind. Had to catch a train. Pity.

The cocktails here are amazing. Their bourbon collection is extensive and their tasting menu for them are great. Their fried Mac and Cheese is delicious as are most of their dishes.

Terrific service. Excellent selection of eclectic beer and bourbons, amongst other selections. Very glad I visited.

A group of 4 of us were on our way somewhere else and needed to kill a little time. We only wanted drinks and they have plenty of drinks. We didn't try their food, but it looked like the people eating were enjoying themselves. As I've come to find is typical in Manhattan, the seating isn't comfortable and the bathrooms... More

After searching for whisky bars on Internet we decided to give this one a try. We were not disappointed. The bar staff were very helpful and gave good advice on what to choose. Spoke to the Bar Manager so hopefully they will stock Glen Moray Single Malt soon!

A group of friends and I had some errands to run in the area and decided to try this place for dinner when we were done. It was very lively for a Wednesday night especially! The staff are excellent - at seating they took our coats for us (which I did not expect!) and returned quickly with their associated tickets,... More

The bartenders were amazing and the girls loved their drinks. My buddy and I both had great craft beer choices and they also had a decent variety of wiskeys. We had the fried mac and cheese and their beef jerky and both I would recommend. Great place for drinks and apps !

Came here to hang out with friends, and the servers were friendly without being overbearing and the mixed drinks were fabulous. While I stuck with the 17th Street Sazerac, I did sample everyone else's drinks and think they were just as tasty (in particular, I liked Her Red Lipstick and When the Morning Comes). Great bar.

We stumbled upon this place on 17th. The ambiance is great. There is a swinging bar area in the front and a quieter dining area in the back. The drink menu is awesome - great selection of cocktails, wines and beer. The food was good, but not great (nothing too fancy). I tried the kale caesar salad (not the best... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
