We stayed in the Fitzpatrick grand central hotel next door so used this every day. The staff were so friendly and the food was good. We will certainly be going back there

A traditional Irish "Pub" leads into an open air area at the back which is nice for al fresco drinks. The menu is varied and good and mid-priced. Service is friendly and efficient.

Always fun and authentic, great location and the food just completes this Irish place attached to a hotel. Look up the history or Wheeltappers and have fun

This pub was part of our hotel we stayed in, it had great football atmosphere, good drinks, and the breakfast was outstanding. what topped it off was that Ireland were playing - so even better atmosphere.

I can only speak to the breakfast here...and it was great! Waitstaff was very accommodating to our 1-year old daughter, bringing her a cup of fruit to keep her occupied while we waited on our main course. Wish we could have had time to have...More

Stopped in for a drink after a meeting. Not an extensive beer selection, but good choices. Had a couple of Smithwicks in a corner booth. Really has a cozy pub feel, very neighborly. No food, so can't speak to that, but definitely worth stopping by...More

Staying in the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel, and on it's ground floor, it was natural to wander in here every morning for breakfast. A full menu was available with the usual Irish staples (the Full Irish, porridge etc, black pudding if that's your thing!), a...More

I've been here many times. It's usually for drinks, quick bar...but I've also been here for breakfast and that was really good. It's close to Grand Central, but it has a lot of character inside.

I would say yes to breakfast and lunch. Probably not the most ideal for dinner.

The Wheeltapper celebrates the best of a traditional Irish pub, offering contemporary food and drink in an informal atmosphere. Together with the year-round outdoor Patio, this restaurant and bar is the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, dinner, or cocktails.

As fitting for a pub so close to Grand Central Terminal, the Wheeltapper's design includes authentic railroad artifacts and memorabilia from the turn of the century. Cozy and warm, the Wheeltapper's two bars, front and back, are comprised of quaint nooks for semi-private dining or drinking, and connected by the Carriage, a passage that closely resembles a classic railroad dining car. A fireplace warms up the back bar in cold weather.

A door takes you from the back bar out to the Patio, a 2,200 square foot outdoor garden wit seating for 48 people and plenty of room to stand and mingle. This unique space is covered with a retractable awning and heated in winter, allowing it to stay open year-round.
