With all the options in the area high end Indian might not seem like a natural choice, but you would be missing out on some of the best eats in the area. From the glorious ambiance to the impeccable menus this place is definitely worth a try.

The Main Dining Room is a huge space that still manages to convey an intimate aura with well-spaced tables and unmoored banquette seating in spots. The service extended by everyone from the sommelier to the busboys was excellent. As first time patrons with only a working acquaintance with Indian cuisine, we appreciated a waitstaff that was well schooled in the... More

We were at Junoon earlier this week and I was very disappointed with only a 'set' menu as well as a complete lack of a-la-carte choices. The food was too spicy and the so-called signature drinks were horrible. Anyway, I was very disappointed with my experience at Junoon and feel that the place is heading in the wrong direction.

It was a pleasure to dine at Junoon. Really nice and warm decor, staff was decent, it can be better though. But the most important thing FOOD, it was just amazing. Must try Dal Makhani, rest what we ordered was really a little diff preperation but it was really great preperation. There were small complimentary appetizer and dessert after meal... More

Went to Junoon for the first time with friends and will definitely plan on going again. While it is pricier than other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood, the restaurant is beautiful and the service was impeccable. The wait staff were very attentive and the sommelier made wine recommendations that were a perfect compliment to our choices. The food was delicious... More

Very impressive decor, nice entrance, excellent looking bar, We were unfortunate to be sat next to a young family, after I was sure I read no children under 13? However the restaurant at 630 was fairly empty and we could have been put somewhere more appropriate, especially when they watched iPhones at a loud volume... ( the tables are quite... More

Junoon is a true dining experience with the chef taking very traditional North Indian dishes and adding a twist of Western flavor to them. The food is consistently good and the ambiance and service makes it a wonderful overall dining experience. Their lunch pre-fixe are wonderful, their a la carte dinner is excellent and their cocktails truly blend the best... More

We ordered from the set menu for restaurant week, which was a great deal compared to the regular menu price. I enjoyed curry shrimp and the pictured eggplant appetizer with an interesting saffron dessert. Everything was perfectly spiced and deserving of its Michelin star.

I am a little sensitive to spice, but I was with a bunch of coworkers and they picked Junoon. We arrived and I let the server now that I am a little sensitive to spice. They were very attentive to that detail and made sure I was comfortable. They have an amazing wine list with great champagnes. Impeccable service, amazing... More

Fairly disappointing dinner. This was our second visit here (first after they changed around the menu format) and I am underwhelmed. It seems as if the service, menu selection, portion sizes, and ambiance have all taken a turn for the worse. We started with the mirchi pakora (shishito peppers), Lal Mitch Ka Paneer (paneer with fig and fig sauce), and... More

Staying in Flatiron District

Neighbourhood Profile
Flatiron District
Offering many of city’s best restaurants and shops set amid classic New York architecture, the Flatiron District is no longer under the tourist radar. At 23rd Street is the famous triangular Flatiron Building, which makes a good picture no matter what angle you photograph it from. Be sure to look up at the elegant architecture as you stroll the streets- much of this neighborhood is part of a historic district that was home to many of the city’s most famous department stores at the turn of the century. At the northern end of the neighbourhood, Madison Square Park is best known for being the home of a famous burger shack, but it can also be a quiet refuge to spend an afternoon, and it frequently hosts interesting public art exhibits. In the lower part of the Flatiron District you'll find Union Square, a bustling crossroads at all times of day and night.
