I am unable to give four stars. Three is the maximum. I felt there is a sense of neglect. The air conditioner in the back room needs maintenance. There was a paper napkin on the floor I- this should have been cleaned up before they...More

We had dinner at Toloache at the recommendation of an Upper East Side resident and we were very happy with our dinner experience. The tacos were small but sort of an imaginative take on the traditional taco, our daughter's tortillas were good, and the enchilada...More

The service was great - friendly, efficient, not intrusive, but were underwhelmed by the food. It started well - chips and guacamole appetizer were great with fresh hot chips, Meat in the signature brisket tacos was stringy and not tender, and enchiladas were underwhelming. It's...More

This Mexican restaurant is a must for great margaritas and tacos and quesadillas. Sit at the bar with very professional bar tenders and friendly people.

I have been to this restaurant many times over the years because I live in the neighborhood a few blocks away. The place is usually crowded and very noisy, so I try to get there early. The prices are high, as indicated by other reviewers,...More

Description
Welcome to Toloache (pronounced toh-lo-AH-tchay), chef-owner Julian Medina's contemporary Mexican bistro located in the Upper East Side. Toloache is named after a flowering plant famed in Mexico for its use in love potions. We hope that when you dine with us you too will fall under the spell of chef Medina's creative cooking, which incorporates seasonal and natural ingredients and more than a dozen types of chilies. Along with the authentic Mexican menu and an exceptional tequila list, we offer elegant decorative elements imported from Mexico. We look forward to seeing you soon.
