Our favorite restaurant is under new management, the menu has changed, prices went up, but most disappointing is that the quality is way way down. This was our favorite restaurant in NYC, not any more!!! Will not return any time soon .

My wife is Thai and hates "fusion." She wants the real thing. This place is the real deal. Whenever we're in NYC she wants to eat here.

I read about this place about a year ago but my last visit I didn't have enough time to do so. So, this year I make sure to get there. But I was kinna a bit disappointment, food wasn't all the great as the review/writer in the article I read. Maybe because we are Thai and have had better Thai... More

The waitress was extremely nice and answered all of our questions about the food. The food came out quickly and we weren't rushed with eating it. The quality of the food was very good. It had a lot of Thai traditional dishes such padcha dish is amazing. Somtum is delicious as well as the wife always wants to come here... More

Most Thai restaurants offer a very narrow view of the country's cuisine. Zabb Elee (in NYC's East Village) is different, focusing on the food of one northern province. It's not the place for satay chicken or green curry. We had some excellent dishes: crispy pork with basil, crab papaya salad, squid etc. Be warned - some of the dishes are... More

Our first visit to Zabb Elee will not be our last! We found the food to be boldly seasoned with fresh chile and lime and perfectly cooked. We look forward to returning soon and eating our way through their extensive menu.

My wife and I are healed Thai food snobs, this place has the most authentic Thai food we have had in New York City. The food is absolutely amazing and the price is right

A quick glance at this menu might have you thinking that all they serve here is meat with a side of meat sprinkled in fish. BUT - all you have to do is request the dish of your choice without meat (or in my case, without fish sauce) - and voila - now you are enjoying this authentic Thai food... More

Ordered for lunch the $12 shrimp dish -- small quantity, unimpressive taste, and I was charged extra $3 for the rice . I will not return here.

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
