A friend and I stopped in on a Friday at around 6. They don't accept ressos for parties of under four people. When we got there, the place was pretty much almost packed, but we managed to nab two seats by the bar. We started with two of their happy hour (M-F 5-7) specials. We went with a dozen oysters... We loved the atmosphere in this bar. The tapas were pleasant and did a great job of soaking up a delicious carafe of red wine - but it's definitely not a restaurant, the food plays second fiddle to the drinks. Casual, unpretentious, great fun - our kind of wine bar. We missed happy hour by about 20 mins but if... More

Four of us had dinner Saturday night at the communal table in the back room. The atmosphere was lively and festive, but not so loud we couldn't speak. Started with a round of oysters and champagne. Oysters were fresh and terrific, and our waiter helped us find a delicious sparkler. We moved on to charcuterie and tapas, and again, not... More

We were seated in a communal table which was great. The food was tapas style and was of very good quality. The empanadas were my favorite. Casual bar and restaurant with a good vibe. The wines were great.

We stopped in for a drink before dinner and really liked this place. It was crowded even though it was like 5pm. Thankfully we snagged 2 seats at the bar. We were happy to hear it's Happy Hour 7 days a week. Usually places do not have a Happy Hour on weekends. We enjoyed the house wine and said, "next... More

Went here on the recommendation of our host as it wasn't far away and he said it was great. It didn't let us down. Happy Hour until 7pm with French white, rose and red for $5 .. and they were good wines at great value. We shared a tapas of foie gras and another of croquettes plus another of octopus... More

Was here with a group of 6 for drinks/dinner. Our waiter was somewhat rude, didn't seem to have time to answer our questions. There were not enough "by the glass" wines which was a disappointment. No liquor served. Menu is tapas. Other than the papas bravas, the food was just "ok". We actually had leftovers of each dish and nobody... More

This little wine bar is a hidden treasure. The Barmaid is great with assisting with your wine tastes and it even has a small beer list to choose from. It also has a warm and enticing atmosphere.

The list of wine is amazing, lot of choices, by glass or bottle ! The food is very good, typical and match with the wine ! Only a small regret, the size could be bigger for the price !

Staying in Lower East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Lower East Side
Straddling the bridge between New York’s thriving immigrant past and its modern transformation into a beacon of global art and culture, the Lower East Side is one of the most dynamic neighbourhoods in the city. The blocks of tenements that represented the promise and blight of the Lower East Side immigrant experience now command top dollar for new residents. Right next to old-world delis, 24-hour bodegas, and the garment shops of Orchard Street, you’ll find hip clubs, fashionable bistros, and luxury hotels beckoning at all hours of the evening. If you love nightlife and live music, it’s hard to beat the scene here.
