Happened upon Applejack for breakfast while walking down the street. We had corned beef hash with toast and eggs. While basic and traditional diner fare for breakfast, the eggs were prepared to specification and the food was fast and hot. Reasonable cost for the meal rounded it out. All in all a good meal for a great value in a... More

Great diner food, outdoor tables. Great service. Pricy, but what isn't in midtown. The food was a notch above typical diner food.

Well priced decent food is actually hard to find in this part of town, everything caters to a tourist market where flash means more than substance. Applejacks is a welcome relief from that, really good quality food at good prices. Try the lunch specials to get all the veges you have been missing out on everywhere else and try the... More

Many of the diners in the area do a lot of take-out and so there are tables mixed in areas of lots of people walking and waiting. This diner is all booths and tables, and no one is standing at your table waiting for takeout. The food is typical diner fare, and that is a good thing. The salads and... More

My husband and I stopped in to Applejack Diner recently. My bagel with lox and cream cheese was very good, and my husband's omelet was fine. As Midwesterners, we are still a bit surprised, though, that a fairly simple breakfast for two in New York can cost $45. Our service was exceptional. I wish I could remember the name of... More

Quick, solid food to get the day started. Wide selection of breakfast options. The lox bagel was one of the best options on the menu.

I don't know which was worse, the service or the food. Of the three of us, no one eat their meal. The waiters were rude. I attempted to get the waiters attention to no avail. He continued to ignore me. I got up to ask the person who was the manager for assistance but he brushed me off and called... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
