Could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Found this charming little place on the internet. It was as good as the reviews and then some. Duck confit was cooked to perfection. Crab cakes were delicious and good wine reasonably priced.

This is a bustling French cafe that was absolutely delightful. We had bouillabaisse, duck confit, beef bourguignon, and a braised lamb stew. With the meal, we had a very nice bottle of chateauneuf du Pape that was reasonably priced. The service was professional and attentive.

Tucked away on a side street off Bleeker is a tiny French bistro that is one of the best French restaurants any where in America. Yes, it is that good. The menu is relatively small, (one side of a single sheet). The other side is the wine list. The menu contains the classics: beef burgundy, duck confit, bouillabaisse, roasted lamb,... More

A small french bistro with very nice food and service. I recommend both the Gigot d'Agneau and the Duck Condit.

What a treat! Dined at Le Gigot for the first but not the last time. This restaurant was like a quick trip to France. The restaurant is small but intimate - the quintessential bistro. The service could not have been better. It was attentive but not too attentive. The many dishes we tried were simply delicious. The modules were so... More

We loved our dinner! My wife and I both had the lamb special. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I started with an equally delicious tomato soup. Even the accompanying bread and fresh butter was special. The restaurant is cozy and has the traditional Parisian bistro look and feel, with even friendlier servers.

During our visit in New York last octobre, we stayed in West Village, where we found this very fine French restaurant, Le Gigot. We enjoyed the food in the first place, but also the warm welcome by their professional staff and the cosy interior. A superbe experience, that made us visit this place twice in a week. Recommended dishes: Gigot... More

Le Gigot is a small neighborhood restaurant in the West Village, and for me is a "can't miss" experience every time I visit NYC. The best time of year to visit is in the Fall and Winter where they feature a cassoulet that is simply the best I have ever had, anywhere. Like many small restaurants in the city, this... More

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary at Le Gigot last night and the evening could not have been more perfect. The delicious cuisine, the beautiful romantic ambiance (you'll swear you're in Paris) and the perfect staff make this restaurant so very special. Pamela, the delicately beautiful owner treats her guests as though she were welcoming them into... More

Serving Provencal cuisine. Purity of ingredients and simplicity of preparation distinguish our specialties. Seasonal dishes are always introduced. A petite zinc bar, banquettes and floral arrangements foster a warm cozy ambiance, and an attentive staff ensures a customers' comfort and satisfaction.

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
