We had my daughter's wedding shower luncheon in the carriage house. The room was beautifully appointed and the table settings were elegant. We were a party of 18 and were seated at a large table. It was perfect because everyone had a chance to talk without having to leave the seats. The room was tight but had the advantage of... More

Absolutely fabulous. On a very wet Friday we went for lunch. We sat at the back of the restaurant in a conservatory which is filled with vases of beautiful fresh flowers. The food was genuinely Italian and everything we ate was delicious. Save space for the Tiramisu. We sat for 2 to 3 hours unrushed and had a wonderful afternoon.... More

My wife & I decided to stop in this for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and I am so glad we did. This small cozy restaurant is very small but very cozy with a nice atmosphere. My wife & I shared for lunch the Kale Salad with pomegranate, apples & pumpkin seed. It was outstanding. The prices are... More

Discovered Palma on the Greenwich Village food and cultural tour, and then returned for brunch the following day. The restaurant is uniquely beautiful and its history compliments the experience. The owner insists on a wealth of fresh flowers to enhance the natural beauty of the interior. Food is excellent! Try the avocado toast and the Cavolfiore Palma. Delicious!

You know when you walk in it's going to be great. The host is warm and glad to see you. They take you to the garden, yes a garden in the city. Your transformed into a very special place in the country side of Italy. The food is to die for and the romance of the room is beyond expectations.... More

Great food & ambience in a small neighborhood trattoria atmosphere. We were seated in the outside garden area which was lovely. We had the spinach ravioli & sea bass special. Both were amazing. We really enjoyed this small cozy restaurant for dinner after Sunday matinee in NYC. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys this type of atmosphere. Food... More

A truly superb meal! A tiny gem of a restaurant with lovely ambiance: candles galore, live greenery and fresh flowers. Service was prompt and welcoming. Simple, yet elegant presentation. Impressive wine list. We had the pasta special of the evening with crab, a sautéed green, cherry tomatoes, and an unknown spice/herb that made the whole dish sing. Prior to that... More

My friend and I were faced with the all important question of where to dine in New York City. You want to get it just right. Somewhere that has wonderful food, a unique ambiance, and an attentive staff. I took a shot and booked a late reservation for Palma, an Italian spot in the West Village area. Being that we... More

Had brunch here on a Sunday and was truly delighted. The drink menu is extensive and interesting - the Bloody Mary was wonderful. The menu for brunch has a range from breakfast, salads, sandwiches as well as pastas and main dishes. We had the avocado toast and the pasta with porcini, which were excellent. The pace of service was perfect,... More

Staying in West Village

Neighbourhood Profile
West Village
Stretching from Sixth Avenue to the Hudson River, the West Village is one of the city’s most coveted addresses. Full of trendy shops, historic taverns, and cozy restaurants set amid 19th century architecture, this neighbourhood has a unique old-world feel. You won’t find a more picturesque location in Manhattan. Without the traditional city grid layout, it’s easy to get lost here, but that’s part of the fun as you stroll down elegant narrow streets with beautiful brownstones. When you need a break, you can always stop in at one of the many quaint eateries or cafes to soak in the atmosphere, or head to the western edge of the neighborhood to enjoy magnificent waterfront views while taking a leisurely walk in Hudson River Park.
