The food here is great, but the atmosphere is the reason to come. Flash back to old NYC. Big Spanish menu, hand painted murals, dim lighting, linen tablecloths, Spanish paintings, a windmill, old fashioned uniforms, and even the old country old Spanish men spending the day at the bar. All the food is good and well presented. The tortilla was... More

This is a New York landmark in the Chelsea area of Manhattan, it is has been there forever, and because the quality and flavors of its Spanish style food is so so good, it isn't going away any time soon... large portions that are so good you like myself, will always find an excuse to go back to eat here... On the positive side for this restaurant, the place is large and can accommodate a lot of people. The restaurant's back room was not noisy and made for good conversation. They took a reservation less than a week before we came on a Saturday night. On the negative side, although the restaurant was more than half empty and we had... More

This place has been here forever. There is a reason for this: Good food, generous portions, moderate prices. attentive service, cozy atmosphere. Lost is the middle of the block, near scaffolding, this restaurant can easily be missed. But inside! before you order, take a stroll around and see what people are eating. Some of the dishes are served in the... More

This restaurant was near our hotel. Someone told us it was a good place to eat. For a busy night, we got seated right a way. The servers were very attentive. After ordering our food it came out soon after. The portions were huge. Unfortunately the food was only okay. The dishes were on the salty side and the flavors... More

El Quijote is as old school as you can get. The front room is the way to go. One truly feels like your in a '40's supper club with large booths, low lights on each table and a full bar complete with deep set neon. The cigarette smoke is gone but one can only imagine a cigarette girl gracing each... More

We had 12 close friends come together for an evening of food, fun, and conversation. I ordered a medley of appetizers to share, with the chorizo and the shrimps in garlic sauce, and calamari highlighting the fare. They serve huge portions for the main course, which can probably feed 3, although it is priced for 1. The paella valenciana is... More

Been here a few times and went back this past weekend for a birthday dinner. Great service and the food is delicious! The lobster is the best here!

Very good food. Have at least one dinner here while visiting NYC. This is a great place for a dinner or just drinks at the bar. It's a place to feel the past and be part of it. An escape from packaged New York restaurants.

The place is a token of old Spaniard style infused with a bit of modernism. The bar is dark with wooden oak and red bar stools. Something about the ambience I enjoyed very much. Very cozy and lively at night. I'm a huge seafood lover. Their Octopus and Shrimp dish is amazing. The Mussels are well cooked and flavorful. At... More
