Ordered the sea bass over a broth and calamari and mussels. It was excellent. Shrimp appetizer was also very tasty. Give you some nice cheese, olives and homemade hummus with good fresh bread as a nosh before dinner. Very nice. I will return

Excellent experience in the Big Apple. Portuguese cuisine is a delight for the senses. Go and enjoy.

I'm not sure if some of these questionable reviewers were at the same restaurant! Yes it's small and somewhat dark at night, but the food and the staff were both excellent. Our server was incredibly pleasant, and very helpful. When we finished off our bottle of wine, she even offered a complementary glass to accompany our desert! The food was... More

I was in town for a college event in the Bronx and decided to have dinner with a good friend of mine who chose this restaurant as I had not had Portugese before. For starters, there is no sign on the doors or windows indicating cash only. At no point during our meal or ordering did the server inform us... More

I've been here 4 times and tried all the seafood plates and found them all to be surprisingly good. Always cooked to perfection and a great deal for the city, they could easily charge $10 more for each entree and I'd still consider it worth the price. My only gripe is the location, really out of the way close to... More

The restaurant was very quiet on the Saturday night we came early (6pm) and business did not pick up. The food was all right. We were hoping for better since we have not been to Portuguese reastaurants before. Calimari in the appetizer was chewy. The Codcake appetizer needed sauce of some sort. A sardine salad was somewhat bland. The codfish... More

Picture it: a first date on a chilly December evening with the guy who is now my significant other. Born in Portugal and raised on real Portuguese eats, I was happy to find what had been coined by many as authentic Portuguese food. The "Lulas com Folhas de Nabo" was tasty and tender. Squid is always a bone of contention... More

Our hotel restaurant was closed and we wanted a late dinner so we stopped in (just across the street from Hotel Hugo). Only about 12 tables, but had a nice bar. The mussels in cilantro were perfectly done. Nice Portuguese wine and food. Reasonably priced as well. Staff were very attentive.
