We came from midtown to find some great kebabs. We had three different types of kebabs for $2 each plus tasty sag paneer and incredible chicken biryana. Service was great. Highly recommended. You could do a kebab tour as there are lots of Indian restaurants in the immediate area.

Earthy, simple fare served out of a tiny (not pretty) place in Soho. Rub shoulders with taxi wallahs and NYU hipsters as you decide whether to eat lamb, chicken, or fish, spinach, potato, or eggplant, and whether to top it off with the fragrant chai or not. Easy on the wallet, scrumptious on the palate. I love the eggplant with... More

Truly a hole-in-wall, bring your own container, otherwise good lunch food.

Just a little bigger than a jetliner's bathroom, Lahore Deli caters to cabdrivers from the Indian subcontinent. Everything they've served me was delicious, and there is no better value in NYC, but it is strictly takeout. No seating inside, and no nearby park benches to enjoy your lunch, so I have eaten out of the styrofoam tray standing on Crosby... More

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
