Had a v nice visit. Highly recommended. It feels a bit like a neighborhood restaurant. A true Bistro feel. Food was terrific. Great for small group conversation. Service was a little 'off', however there was a surge of customers as we arrived.

Dined here for the 3rd time in a few years. We always stay up this end of New York when visiting friends who live nearby and while there is a shortage of hotels, there is no shortage of amazing restaurants and Le Paris Bistrot is one of my favorites. The food is always amazing and I've never yet been disappointed.

Not too many places were open Christmas night along Madison Ave. in the East 90s, so we enjoyed the casual feel and fine food here. The onion soup was a warming starter, and the pate and salads are also quite good. We feasted on mussels, duck, beefsteak and salmon for our mains. Service is always very attentive, and helpful. My sister and I happened into this charming spot for a late lunch one day and decided it was the best meal of our 4-day trip to NY. We were seated upstairs at a perfect table overlooking the bar and main dining area below. Service was quick, friendly and the food divine. Crusty bread served with real butter, steaks done... More

The sort of French bistro that used to be found all over Manhattan, this one has been in the same location, run by the same family (but with a different name) for over 30 years. The country pate, made from duck, is to die for, and it offers the best steak tartare I've ever tasted. Those two items alone are... More

Le Paris Bistrot is wonderful for anyone who wants the real French experience, both from the standpoint of the atmosphere and the food. So don't go there expecting an American take on a French bistrot, or a frigidly cold hermetically sealed air conditioned room. But if you want a lovely authentic French bistrot meal, this is the place. My Salade... More

The Italian burrata appetizer was fantastic and the salade nicoise was well prepared and delicious. The staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. There was a beautiful breeze coming in the open front of the restaurant.

I quivered between giving the restaurant 3 vs 4 stars. I finally gave it 4 . As far as the negatives went, it was very hot and humid in the restaurant. There was air conditioning but they kept the door open. My stuffed artichoke appetizer was horrible. It was the worst artichoke I've ever had. It was tough and flavorless.... More

From the outside this looks like a romantic, quaint, if not tiny French cafe. Correct on only one front--tiny. More like tiny and smelly. And loud. And the food was not good. Over warmed bread. Greasy mussel broth. Average onion soup. Cold Brussel sprouts. Separated cream of spinach. Overworked and careless staff. Oh, and loud and smelly.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
