Firstly the decor is chic with that understated feel... The staff whilst formal are helpful and charming. Now what really matters the food is quite superb... Fresh truffle, white asparagus, with the fried egg, the burratta with pink grapefruit and hazelnuts. The champagne and truffle risotto a delight, followed by the grilled Dover sole with lemon and capper butter and... More

We came last year with two other couples and we all enjoyed the food and being able to socialize with the group in a restaurant. So we went back this year even though this was just my husband and myself. The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable. My husband had a varied seafood appetizer and we both could not resist... Don't get me wrong, all we had was fantastic: the ragu, the tortellini. I mention the risotto because it's not something you always get it right. Well this place knows how to cook a risotto.

We enjoyed a delicious Italian meal with very good service. I started with a crabmeat salad with avocado and my wife had a pear salad. My entree was the rigatoni stuffed with veal. My wife had pasta with ground five nut pesto. Our dessert was the chocolate gelato. The food was very good along with the service. Its pricey but... More

This was our first visit to this sister of another of our favorite restaurants, Sistina. The atmosphere is lovely and we enjoyed the excellent food. The only glitch was that, because they seemed to have run out of clean martini glasses, it took almost a half an hour before my husband received his drink. At first they offered a champagne... More

This lovely Italian restaurant is ideal for lunch before going to the Met Breuer Museum. We shared a fantastic heirloom tomato and burrata salad with a tomato vinaigrette and tomato gelee followed by a delicious scallop risotto. The restaurant is filled with art creating an elegant atmosphere for dining. The service was expert and gracious. The restaurant is pricey but... More

Enjoyed a lovely prix fixe with fabulous service. Caprese salad was inventive and delicious, carbonara with bacon and quail's egg, pollo Milanese and a glass of wine. We would love to come back soon! Excellent service in an artistic atmosphere.

Caravaggio is a very pretty restaurant serving good real Italian food. The portions are small and the prices are high. I liked the restaurant and was treated very nicely, but felt that the there was a slightly supercilious attitude by the manager and waitstaff

This is one of the best places I have ever eaten at . The food was great, the service great and the ny power scene at full throttle. My only small gripe was that the space is a bit awkward in lay out but who really cares. The food choices ranged from old school Italian it interesting variations on that... More

If you're looking for a refined yet wholesome Italian experience for a special dinner or business lunch, it can't get any better than Caravaggio in Upper East Side of Manhattan. Secluded in a quite corner, this is the place which is mostly frequented by neighbours and local businessmen, to have great food and enjoy a good conversation.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
