So many restaurants here within a few blocks so we had to try it. Udon noodle soup was OK. Sushi and shrimp were good. Service is friendly.

Nice quiet atmosphere, excellent sushi, good drink selection, reasonable prices. What's not to like? The Crimson Roll (pictured ) is to die for.

A decent menu, reasonable prices, a good selection of sake, also at reasonable prices but nothing outstanding or memorable. Service was good and friendly which makes me wish I could be more enthusiastic about the food.

There are many sushi restaurants in Manhattan especially on the upper Eastside. This is a standout because the staff is consistently attentive, the prices are very reasonable, and the food is fresh and delicious. They have regular specials so there are new things to choose from but the standard menu is diverse and can please the most finicky eater. This... More

Whether on the spot, or delivered, Isohama's sushi is always excellent, the special rolls in particular. Whenever we come to New York, we stay in the neighborhood, so even if they only see us a few times a year, the welcome is always as warm and kind.

Recommend by the concierge at our hotel, Isohama proved to be a very pleasant restaurant with excellent affordable sushi. Our tuna, salmon and shrimp rolls expertly balanced the flavors of the fish with the correct amount of rice, condiments and sauces so as not to overwhelm the fish flavor...it is all about the fish! Edamame and Misso soup were great... More

Food was nothing special. Service was great. I probably won't go back. I'm sure they must be better options around for sushi in the UES.

This is a nice sit down sushi restaurant on the Upper East Side. They have affordable prices and friendly service. I had their 3 roll lunch special and was very pleased with the food.

Visited with family just prior to their closing time, but the host was pleasant and accommodating. The house salad was fine. The Miso soup was so-so. The Sushi was very good. And their shrimp tempura was again - just OK. All in all, not bad, but nothing exciting to bring me back.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
