This was by far the best restaurant we ate in during our week-long trip. Meals were outstanding, lots of meat, so not so good if you're a vegetarian, though there were vegetarian offerings. Great service, too. The churrasco is the best and love the caipirinhas.

Overpriced and food was poor but service was very good. People working there very nice but will never come back for the outrageous prices with below average food

After many good restaurants in NYC and great satisfaction about the quality of the food and service, this was one big disappointment. The start was already wrong when they opened an unsealed bottle of VeroWater (sparkling) which was for sure NOT sparkling and according to...More

We had two badly chipped plates, a dirty greasy plate, cracked glass and filthy cutlery. Portions were enormous, very off putting. Food was ok but not good enough to return, especially as the waiter chased after us as we hadn't left "enough suggested tip". Hmmmm,...More

The bitoque was awesome! The angus steak was really nice and cooked perfectly. Served with lots of fries, rice, a fried egg and delicious black beans (which gave it a pretty nice and tasteful brazillian twist). Probably the best bitoque I ever had. Wash it...More

A shame as we had just arrived in NY and stumbled upon this restaurant and really wanted steak. The rice tasted as though it came from a packet, the chips tasted with a hint of old oil and then it was really expensive....would not go...More

As a college student, paying $20+ for an entree seems steep to me but it is NYC after all. This restaurant is in Little Brazil and has very nice staff. The food was great, the wine list was extensive. If you are looking to splurge...More

We stopped here for supper on a Friday night with no reservation and were seated right away. The food was tasty (especially the fried bananas!) and the service impeccable, but the portions were pretty small, and we spent way more than we'd planned to. Perhaps...More

My boyfriend and I accidentally stumbled upon this restaurant after our previous dinner plans went sour. We were able to make a reservation easily for the time we needed within just an hour of calling. The atmosphere was pleasing, the service fantastic and the food...More

Description
In the heart of Little Brazil street is the famous Ipanema Restaurant, considered to be the best Brazilian restaurant in all of New York City. Ipanema offers a relaxed and contemporary atmosphere complemented by the authentic cuisine our chef has perfected over the past 30 years. While the name Ipanema refers to the famous beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil our menu is firmly rooted in the culinary crossover between both Brazil and Portugal. Ipanema's menu combines the timeless history of Portuguese recipes with the zest and vibrancy of Brazilian cuisine, resulting in a one-of-a-kind dining experience. At Ipanema you can immerse yourself in a true Brazilian-Portuguese experience with famous dishes including: Feijoada, Vatapá, Pão de Queijo, Bacalhau Assado, Bitoque Mariscada, and more.
