Becco is a staple of restaurant row. I have eaten there many times and I order their fixed menu. The food is high quality and not some over priced and over hyped chain Italian full of cliches and pink sauces. The fixed menu will offer you three different typas of pasta dishes (usually one non beef option and a gluten... More

Lydia B. just knows how to do everything perfectly. We arrived in the city for a matinee and decided on Italian. We headed to Becco without a reservation and were seated within 15 minutes. We were asked by the waiter if we were seeing a show. Much appreciated. The menu is very diverse and the pasta lunch special was available.... More

The menu items have Italian names, and some of the stuff was ordered by the more experienced people with us so I can't tell you exactly what some of our food was. The appetizer was a type of mozzarella cheese supposedly made from buffalo milk served on a toasted bread. I can't confirm the type of mozzarella, but it was... More

We heard about this place from a friend, and were staying nearby, so we gave it a try. It was very busy and we didn't have a reservation, but they found a place for us anyway. Great food, served "family style", and friendly efficient service, which is amazing considering how busy it was. Would certainly go again when next in... More

Becco's has been our go to restaurant, in New York, for over twenty years. The variety of choices makes it a wonderful place for all ages. The daily pastas did not disappoint, the flavors were wonderful and the antipasto appetizer was nothing short of amazing. The restaurant is quaint, and the service impeccable, and very pleasant. We finished with a chocolate... More

Dinner with a group of friends before the theater. A bit of a chance given the several less than stellar reviews, but they could seat our group. Prices are average for the area, but the quality of the food was wonderful, the portions are large and the service was good. As a result, reservations may be difficult to come by.... More

We made reservations on a freezing cold Wednesday night. The place was packed and loud. We had to wait for our table. We were seated next to the bar very close to the front door (brrr). Our waiter was average, not very friendly. We appreciated the $29 bottles of wine. Two in our group got the 3 pasta special. One... More

We were looking forward to dining at Becco as many friends have recommended it and of course who doesn't love Lydia. The Foccacia tasted a bit stale, and the pasta was very bland. The brocoli rabe was overcooked as well as the sausage in the pasta dish. I know I tend to be a bit more critical than the average... More

I've been going to Becco's for about 8 years now. my son works & lives in NYC and it's his favorite, mine too. It's Italian and is always crowded, so it is very busy & noisy but to me, it's so New York! They have a great deal for $25.95 which includes a Caesar Salad and three pastas, which change... More

We were in NYC on a Sunday for a 3pm show. Before the show checked out opentable and able to get a 6pm reservation online for 3. Glad we did! Arrived just on time and the place was PACKED. While I was hoping not to be in the crowded bar area, we were seated there. You get to know your... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
