We happened on this restaurant by accident, but what a find. The waiters have all the old-world charm and style. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The portions are generous. The atmosphere warm and friendly. I grew up in NYC, and it was so lovely to see that I could still enjoy this kind of family-owned dining experience.

It is always a treat to go into a restaurant that will have white linen cloths and napkins It is also a treat to be music less so that you can have a conversation and not have to compete with loud music that drowns out conversation. The food was excellent, more than sufficient and well priced

After reading some of the reviews on here i thought I'd put an honest review on from our experience at Da Tommaso, We've been lucky enough to come back 3 times in 3 years and every time me and my wife say how much we've enjoyed it, it's authentic you can't get anymore Italian than this place it's not the... We used this restaurant early evening before a theatre show. It was surprising how busy it was so would recommend a reservation to garantee a place. We were very pleased with the service and food and would highly recommend if you like Italian food in a lively restaurant.

This is truly a great authentic Italian restaurant - very retro/time warp in design but the staff are great and the food too good for words. Will certainly be returning.

I was greeted by a man who couldn't hang up the phone or put the caller on hold to greet a guest willing to spend money in the establishment. He pointed towards a table. There did not seem to be a single waiter assigned to my table. I was served by two waiters. The first did not tell me about... More

I had dinner here recently and I found the staff a bit too informal and familiar. The food was very good and the prices I agree were "fair" for Manhattan. The restaurant is small and intimate and the tables are tight. I felt a bit self-conscious on my own.

The poor service clearly did not match the elegant atmosphere of this Italian restaurant. The server was not wiling to produce a wine list if you mentioned you considered ordering by the glass and were not ready to order a bottle, neither did he bother to produce the desert menu. Our hastily scribbled manuscript bill, cleverly included an undeserved 20%... More

Don't be put off by the "strip-mall storefront" or the knock off Capidomonte lighting fixtures adorning the dining room because this is by far some of the most delicious and authentic Italian food in all of Manhattan. (I dare you to find a more reasonably-priced Italian restaurant of this caliber.) Don't miss the "three-color" salad, or the fresh calamari. The... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
