First of all, let's say that the entrance is in its own way spectacular. You enter at the bottom of a building with the bare name of the restaurant written on a window. You take a narrow hallway with a security agent sitting in his...More

I have been at this restaurant first time around early 2000s and have been going more often, at least twice a year, since 2014. It is perfection! Different parts of toro, many unknown fishes from japan and always everything tastes incredible. Everyone complains it is...More

Sushi was good, some of it very good. But for almost $275 per person (no drinks, no tip, no tax), it was obnoxiously overpriced. Perhaps I should have questioned pricing when the chef asked me "my choice of fish or yours?". Would not return.

Quality of food was excellent. Environment is nice, low key, pleasant sushi chef. the price however was too high relative to the overall experience. Sushi Onondera on 5th Ave is similarly priced (about $400 per person) but the service and environment is much better. Again,...More

As I mentioned... Sushi Done Right!! I went for a Lunch with my very good client. Actually it was his treat..lol. We had Sashimi and also Chef's Choice. The fish literally melted in mouth. It was so fresh. A bit pricey but worth every dime!

Do not go. We have been to many high end restaurants in NY (11 Madison, Per Se, Daniel, Bouley, etc.), so believe me when I say that the price was beyond ridiculous for what we got for Omakase. We went there last night looking for...More

At 600$ per head you might think I've been lobotomised and to tell the truth I do have a slightly sore head after overindulging in sake and beer but this is unquestionably the best sushi in New York. I'm not going to run through what...More

NY has many fine Japanese restaurants. I have been to about 5-6 of them including Masa, Morimoto. They offer great dishes and services, but I find their styles are fusion styles. Mr. Uezu's approach is simple and pure. His ingredients are of top quality and...More

Kuruma Zushi is a classic. It has been here for 40 years and is possibly the best sushi restaurant in the country. This is not the place for spicy tuna rolls. It is simply pure and incredibly fresh seafood. Start with sashimi and work up...More
