Before our 7:00 Lion King show, my boyfriend and I were looking for deals for a nice meal. I found a voucher on Pulsd for 2 which included: 4 glasses of wine; 2 entrees; 2 orders of pizza, pasta or risotto; 2 entrees; and 2 desserts, all for $89. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was impeccable, we did not... More

Just a couple blocks from historic Grand Central Terminal, this restaurant provides great food at reasonable (for midtown Manhattan) prices. I started with the classic Caesar Salad , then a Kobe meatball appetizer and went with Penne Alla Vodka for the entree. It was all done very well. I went in without a reservation , but it was pretty early... More

We enjoyed a great lunch here. Everything was fresh, started with Kobe meatball crostini very tender and the sauce was delicious, shared a Ceasar salad, fresh and loved the dressing just the right amount of anchovy; for my entree I had the Melanzane Parmigiana, with broccoli, again the tomato sauce was great and the eggplant was sliced thin and tender.... We went here during our honeymoon, we found New York very expensive due to the euro crash! We had a Groupon deal and the bill still worked out expensive. I use Groupon a lot and find most businesses had when they see you coming. Not an accusation just the feeling you get when you show the voucher. However, service was... More

Overpriced, food ok. Restaurant always seems to be empty so i dont know why they can charge so much. They offer a groupon deal but it's still overpriced even with that

Wife had bought a living social coupon for this place before we came to NY. We called at 4 to reserve for 7 pm for three people and had no problem (weeknight). Place was warm on a winter night. Nice staff. Good airy, crusty bread. I had a good house red wine. We had our tired 5 year old so... More

I have been to Italy many times and I would say this restaurant is a gem. I found it on Living Social by accident but it ended up being a great meal. It's very centrally located, with a good size menu and great service. We had the insalata Parma - an excellent combination of arugula, Parma ham and cannelloni beans.... More

My girlfriend and I were in New York for a few days, and I chose Gente as a dinner option after reading reviews. The menu had a variety of Italian dishes including a number of vegetarian options. When we arrived' we were quickly seated by a very polite gentleman. Water was poured by yet another polite gentleman. Our server explained... More

Excellent service. A white table clothe experience. Fine dining to the tunes of Sinatra. The servers had world experience. The food was presented perfectly with a good wine selection. A place to return to.

For my business I need to have Midtown restaurants that I can recommend to out of town clients so I took advantage of a Living Social promotion and went to Gente with a friend. Gente is centrally located but the whole atmosphere is very off. The service is not friendly and very businesslike but in the bad sense of the... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
