I've visited all the top steakhouses for work and I can say this is really one of the best, but not the best. There's nothing to complain about here but wolfgangs is the cream of the crop

Great atmosphere and environment- dark panels, interesting pipes history and old school white prestige tables traditionally laid with traditional well run bar. Steaks were perfection - we both had T-bones which were melt in the mouth (mine medium rare, his medium well) peppercorn sauce is to die for and sides are definitely to share! The lump crab cocktail is simple,... More

This is the first time we visited and the food was great.. We were looking for steakhouse and decided to try this old place. app was good, lobster bisque, porter house was so much that we could hardly finished. I enjoyed the meal here and I would go back again when I visit New York next time.

Went on Monday for a late meal-we could only get 9.30 after needing to change our booking. Unfortunately it meant we weren't hungry which was a real shame as what we had was delicious! I had the smallest fillet and my husband the mutton. Huge portions and we failed to finish the one side we ordered. Nice couple of glasses... More

The Keens steakhouse was established in 1885, it's been in business for over 130 years. Not many fortune 500 companies have a history of this long so for a restaurant, they must have been doing something right. I had been to Keens a few times and found my experience with Keens to be consistently excellent. The food and services are... More

Nostalgic, historical, noisy and full of large meaty meals. Best to consider sharing. The muton chop is well worth trying. The steaks looked even bigger. There is nice warm bread and crudite anyway. Service is attentive. You can eat fish or shellfish, but why would you? Upstairs with some city types was a bit raucous. Never mind- would come again... More

Had been recommended by a friend to try this place. I have eaten steak in a lot of places, San Diego, Florida, Belgium and London to name a few and none have been as good as the 12 oz fillet I had last night. The cliches was true; "melts in your mouth" it was incredible. It is pretty expensive but... More

Why did I wait so long to rave about this place! We were celebrating a special occasion and wanted to celebrate over a nice steak dinner. We weren't looking for gorgeous high-ceiling with chandeliers. We cared more about the steak quality. We were deciding between Wolfgang and Keen's. *Prime Rib of Beef, King's Cut, medium rare. PORTIONS: HUGEMONGO. Not even... More

Keen's quite frankly is New York Steakhouse royalty, a bastion of quality in the arena of the carnivorous arts! Deservedly so. Our eight strong group had discussed a pre-Christmas visit and bang on the 45 day booking window we secured a reservation. We had already discussed the need for 'Mutton for the table'. Keen's signature cut would not be missed... More

Description
Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
