Had a tremendous dinner without knowing at all what to expect. Staying at eh Gansvoort and just needed to eat later in the evening and came across this place. Waiter took care of us and they even had a rare Bourbon that I own but have never opened so we splurged and it was amazing. A dining experience never to... More

I don't make reservations to eat here. I go to the bar, see the man who runs the pub (cool area between main dining room and bar) where its first come first served. It's the best. The scotch selection in the bar is unmatched, the porterhouse for two is a perfect dry aged masterpiece and the banana Foster's to finish... More

We enjoyed dinner at Keens Steakhouse and it was very deliscious! Good meat but also good other choices. It has something for everyone. A special hint: try the "Mai Tai" drink. Amazing!

Came in on a wednesday night before going to a concert at Madison, we hadn´t reserved a table so we had to wait for about 20 minutes, which was okay. We sat in a comfy Chesterfield in the reception and got to really soak up the atmosphere of the place. We had a really nice waitor, who helped us choose... More

While looking for interesting places to eat while in NYC, I found this place called Keens Steakhouse. Founded in 1885, this place is a serious old school steakhouse, and the kicker was, their house specialty was MUTTON CHOPS. So after a long day of sightseeing, this was the perfect place to get my meat fix on. It was packed but... More

Dined here on a Monday night with reservations. We didn't like the first table we were seated at which was located by the door. Hostess was very gracious to move our table to a quaint little spot for easy talking. The waiter was excellent. Never seemed to hover and gave us great space. We dined on two filets, mashed potatoes... More

This place is the definition of NYC steakhouse in personality and presentation. The menu and the service offered by the wait staff is also very good. However, I find my experience struggling to live up to the rave reviews posted by many others. There was nothing "wrong" with my meal or overall experience, but it was somewhat underwhelming. While the... More

I was recommended Keens by a client in London, so we booked in advance of our trip. I took the mrs as we both love steak and my god it was AMAZING! Started in the bar as we were early and met some great and very friendly locals who were very welcoming. Got our table in the busy and buzzing... More

We really love eating steak and this place is our favorite. Porterhouse for two is a perfect choice for a brilliant meal for two. We have been here one year ago and came back last week during our visit to NYC. Again it was brilliant, just the best.

We visited this traditional restaurant during our visit in NY. It is better to sit in the upper floor as it is less noisy, the food is good quality and well cooked. I did not believe the size, the softeness and the lack of smell of the mutton chop. Excellent

Description
Keens Steakhouse, a classic New York chophouse, was already famous for its steaks and chops at the turn of the century. Founded in 1885, Keens has 90,000 clay pipes that line the ceilings – pipes once smoked by customers after dinner. Today Keens legendary mutton chops and dry aged prime steaks are still without equal in the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
