Centrally located I found their website after a reservation was messed up by my hotel and found to be minutes walk from where we were.Limos lined the street to the restaurant and the doors opened to a warm welcome and a time warp 70s era restaurant. Cosy seats booth or table, photos and memorabilia, wines in abundance and well dressed staff with... More

Overpriced for what you receive, you are paying for the name more than the service or food. It's decent but for the price you have many other high quality options such as Peter Lugars.

A wonderful experience that started at the bar ,meeting interesting people. Chatted it up with a regular patron who was helpful in making my dinner choice ,right down to wine choice. Upon arrival of my dinner dates we were promptly seated. Keeping with the recommendation ,Prime Sirloin was the selection for the main course with a side of crispy hash... More

The service here is excellent and the food very good. I found the flavor of the steak slightly below some other ny steak houses. I enjoyed the hash browns and asparagus and the wine was excellent. It's an historic destination worth a trip

For those of you unfamiliar with Sparks Steak House, Sparks has an infamous link to mob history. On December 16, 1985, three men gunned down Gambino crime boss Paul Castellano and under-boss Thomas Bilotti as the pair were stepping out of a car to head into the restaurant. Having some family history in New York and my wife's first visit... More

Dinner on NYE with 24 family members! Excellent service- they were super accommodating when we had 2 small children that they hadn't accounted for in the reservation. Wine and food was all excellent. Not inexpensive, but worth it for the history and the quality combined. I had one of the best steaks of my life. The sides are all wonderful... More

I visited tens of steak houses but this is my favourite , nice prepared negroni. Quick professional service. Wine list like a storybook . You feel like you're in the past. The only negative is that I don't like the waiters splitting there tips just next to our table it doesn't show much respect the way the did that. The... More

Large old fashioned restaurant with a former mafia history. Service is exceptional, so are the prices. Unfortunately no so for the steaks. They are huge and cooked to each persons specifications but just don't live up to what they should be given the price and reputation of this restaurant. Tables are well spaced but there is little noise dampening so... More

My second visit to Sparks and was even better than the first. Took work colleagues there because of the "New Yorkness" of the place. They were wowed! Old school farm; large portions; great food; massive wine options and bar. This place takes care of you without having the attitude of being a snotty chain steakhouse. We were going to be... More

Wanted to try Sparks due to it's history and the reviews of the food. Service was very good. Old school decor. None of the modern cold minimalistic decor. Food portions were big and the food was very good. I'd go again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
