We found this restaurant by searching vegan restaurants and I am disappointed we only went there once! We had the nachos, elixir lemonade, tri color pasta and the black bean burrito. All were absolutely delicious and served very promptly. The tri color pasta is one of the best pastas I have ever had in a vegan restaurant. The staff were... More

This is a place where the food is so good that even if you're a hard-core carnivore and didn't know it was vegan restaurant, you probably wouldn't care. We chose the Seitan Nachos for an appetizer. Zesty and delicious. The Tempeh Reube was a delightfully tasty alternative to corned beef. My wife was pleased with her French Toast. and the... More

I had been here previously 3 years ago and was anxious to get back. Although it was a busy hour, we were quickly seated and the service was great. As before, the food was super. Our waiter answered all our questions and made some excellent suggestions. We had the Caravan Burrito, Green Garden Platter, and Spinach Ravioli - with a... More

From the second we set eyes on this place we knew we were in for a great experience. Charming and adorable was the decor with bright and pastel eclectic colored artwork covering and attached to walls. A jazz band played in the corner on a Monday night. The waiter was very nice and helpful. We ordered the sampler which marveled... More

Okay. This is a tough one. I actually really enjoyed the food, and I am not a vegetarian or a vegan, but if I could have meals like this more often, I'd consider becoming one. My tempeh Reuben was tasty and delectable, and did not try too hard to emulate a corned beef Reuben, yet sustained the style and texture... More

I should have listened to the bad reviews I read about this place tonight. I was on the hunt to try a different raw vegan restaurant and came across Caravan of Dreams. I read through many of the reviews and noticed there was a theme. Many people talked about how rude the manager or staff were. I thought to myself,... More

We wouldn't have found it but for the Trip Advisor positive reviews, this little place in East Village on 6th Street. But we're so glad we did. Lovely, well-judged service, incredibly generous servings of well-sourced, fresh and well prepared vegetarian dishes. We enjoyed every aspect of our lunch in this romantic little dive, and wanted to leave as big a... More

My friend from NY, recommend this place. He's not even vegetarian and it's one of his favorites. So happy we went! Amazing food and smoothies. Brought two meat eaters and they were very impressed. The " Raw" dishes were fabulous.

Good service. Quirky atmosphere including the music which might not be for everone. But the food is great as is the tea selection. The burrito is huge and is a winner for non-vegans. Most of the raw dishes are good, but when you eat those, be prepared for a lot of plant fiber. Overall a great little restaurant. Been there... More

I decided to go to Caravan of Dreams on my birthday just to kick off a new year and kick off my new life as a vegan. I honestly had no idea what to expect and was beyond pleased with how carefully crafted each dish was and how amazingly delicious everything was! I crave the raw 'quesadilla' and hope to... More

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.
