I found out this place by chance. It's a lovely shelter 2 minutes walk from Central Park, Columbia University and St. John's Cathedral. Warm atmosphere, free wifi, good coffee, delicious pastries. Here the time is forgotten. The last but not the least: good prices!

I highly recommend a stop at this pastry shop. We had the baclava, strudel and coffee. All were yummy. Service was friendly. We sat outside and watched the activity in the area. It is a vibrant neighborhood near Columbia University and right across the street...More

Small coffee and pastry shop on Amsterdam Ave. They serve wonderful pastries we remember from our childhood growing up in Prague. If you are visiting the St. John Divine Cathedral this small place is just across the street on the corner of the Cathedral Parkway....More

We picked up two hamentoshen after visiting the cathedral across the street. They were way huge but tasty. Apricot was good. Walnut, an unusual flavor, was delicious. Place seems packed all the time.

The Hungarian Pastry shop is small but worth a visit for quiet respite and a sugar hit. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious coffee and breakfast there. The café itself is quite small, so be prepared to wait a little, or arrive early and...More

This place saved us from a huge thunderstorm! It has a very very nice selection of pastries -- all which look original and fresh -- and coffee, etc. However, the place is pretty small so the tables are tiny and you feel like you are...More

I went there while there was a snowstorm and I really enjoy my time in this tiny cozy place. The pastries were delicious! The portions were more than generous. The place is filled with Columbia people (students or academics) so not touristy at all. A...More

When I was there I did not see any signs saying that certain pastries were gluten free...that's not to say they don't have it. I'd go and just ask them. Have fun !!
