Having booked the Old Homestead Steakhouse, we decided to eat little that day so we would be good and hungry!! On entering the restaurant we were pleasantly greeted by beautiful aromas and nice quite surroundings. A good start. However, our waiting staff was not very...More

I’m a Peter Lugers guy through and through. I’ve always loved their ambiance and execution above any other steakhouse in NYC. That was until I came here. Old Homestead is a righteous rival. The carpaccio was full of flavor, the creamed spinach was beautifully executed...More

I used to love this place and the steaks are still great. The problem in the city is that there's about another 200 restaurants with great meat so Old Homestead needs to put in some effort to stand out. Be classic but perfect or try...More

A little out of our way but we made the trip on the subway and we are glad we did. The stake was to die for and my husband hasn't stopped talking about the clams. A wonderful evening and atmosphere and hope to return.

Every trip to New York requires a trip to Old Homestead Steakhouse, however, this last time it was terrible. The table next to us was very loud and rude, We complained and nothing was done. The steaks lack the flavor that we had enjoyed so...More

My boyfriend reserved this place since he has been in the past with family. Lovely service even when our waiter disappeared after an issue with a customer, others stepped in and took place. Lovely food and a place I would definitely suggest you stop by....More

Don't go here. The atmosphere is low class grunge. Food is mediocre. Service was terrible. Pick any other good steakhouse in NYC and go there - it will be much better than this awful place.

OK, a mixed review: The Old Homestead Steakhouse has shrunk. The area to the right as you walk in has been sold and is now a bakery. There is still upstairs, but that wasn't open at 5:30. The clientele were not the most refined either....More

I have gone there for lunch and they have two specials on the lunch menu. One is a filet mignon sandwich and I don't recall the second, sorry. But I had the filet mignon sandwich and it was excellent.
