This is a particularly good fast food spot on Lex, but we ordered an Aussie style breakfast, called “brekkie”—- the green eggs ‘n damn!——which is a spinach and basil omelette with goat and sheep feta, served on toasted Levain Batard. It’s now my favorite breakfast plate. We also had their Americano coffee, which was delicious. The place is busy in the AM with people headed for work and needing coffee and grub. Also, seating is limited to stools and counter. Their web site says it all.....Recommended.

Big shout out to the brilliant young crew at Little Collins. I was working for broadcast during the US Open tennis and visited every morning apart from the tragic days they were closed. Bright, engaging, welcoming young people with top class barista skills. They were so good that after a couple of days I almost forgot to faint at the NYC prices ! Any Kiwis visiting should put this on their list of places to grab a great flat white.

A menu that promised Smashed Avo and Vegemite toast (AKA The Convict) was enough for two homesick Aussies to make the 20 min trek uptown and it did not disappoint. A little piece of OZ right here in NYC. Vegemite toast never tasted so good and the Smashed Avo was fresh and flavoursome. Barista coffee just like back home...so SO good I stayed for a second. It was also great to hear some Australian accents too.

Don't get me wrong - the food at Little Collins is still excellent. As an Aussie (and it was established by Aussies), you can kill a vegemite craving with 'The Convict' and get a truly inspired avo smash with or without an egg. I admit I have never had a bad meal here. However, as a return traveller to NY, we have been here numerous times during trips over the past few years - the coffee this time, was not as good. Not hot enough, too milky - just average. But what really got me down was the drop in service. The staff we encountered here were less than friendly, mostly indifferent. It makes a real difference to the experience because this is a tiny cafe that is always packed, so if you are going to squish up with strangers for something to eat and drink, a little warmth from your hosts does not go astray. Not sure if LC has been sold/changed hands, but it sure felt like it.

I had an unusually bitter/sour flat white during my 1st visit at the 3rd Ave Little Collins so instead of asking to have it re made, I decided to order and pay for another one. I quietly asked “Nick” who cashed me out if he can make it this time. I didn’t want to hurt the nice, young lady barista’s feelings. He responded quite loudly “oh! But she’s an excellent barista. You’re going to have to make up your mind whether you still want this latte coz she’s gonna be making it for you, I’m not gonna be making it”. This after he told me that yes, he also makes coffee. There was also a 3rd barista behind the counter. I’m a trained barista myself and have always appreciated the coffee at Little Collins’ old location on Lexington. The obnoxiousness I experienced from this guy was beyond that exchange. We walk in at 7am to a near empty store and he unnecessarily tells me & my sister not to take the table w multiple chairs when there were about 6 other tables for two. Duh! We got served our coffee cake so I nicely confirm that we also ordered a panacotta since there had been a slight mistake typing our order at the cash machine. Nick snootily replied that the panacotta happens to be complicated to make but we will be getting it soon. Lol! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve ordered their delicious panacotta at the old location which is pre made before sunrise so … Overall, between the poorly dialed latte and the uncalled for rudeness of Nick (who I understand is an owner!!), I will not be going back anymore.

I ordered a chorizo burrito ($13). While fairly tasty it was small and seemed to be more a potato burrito than a chorizo burrito. Served alone ( no side dish) it is probably not enough food for most men for a meal. Service was not very good. No one checked back with me after the burrito was served. “Regular” coffee was small and there was no refill offered. Sleek, attractive, contemporary interior.

This place on Lexington Avenue has the best avocado toast in New York City bar none! The bread is thick and filled with seeds and the avocado is perfectly made. I’ve also had the green eggs and ham which is a Spiny omelette. You will also enjoy sitting in the window and watching the people walk by. Oh, and did I tell you that the coffee is delicious?

Conveniently located around the corner from our Hotel Boutique. Delicious fresh ground coffee, I enjoyed a cappuccino and incredible breakfast menu. I enjoyed the chorizo breakfast burrito and my husband got scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and roasted breakfast potatoes. Great service and nice portions. Would definitely return!

Spotting pancakes on the menu when we had missed out on visiting a more Instagram famous cafe due to the long wait we had to satisfy our craving. A 20 minute wait in the heated outside shelter was so worth it for the most beautiful and delicious pancakes I have ever had. The staff were all friendly, the service was wonderful and the food, fresh juice and mocha were amazing.

The food and coffee were enjoyable, but my overall dining experience was quite disappointing. I visited on the Friday morning before Christmas Eve, and as I dined alone, the host seated me at the communal counter near the entrance. Brianni, the initial waitress who took my order, provided excellent recommendations for dishes. However, my experience took a downturn when she was transferred to the take-out order section before my meal arrived. The newly assigned waiter who took over did not check in on my experience, only approaching me to present the check 46 minutes after I entered the restaurant. When I requested a few more minutes before settling the bill, he insisted he had already granted me a one-minute courtesy and pointed out that I had spent 45 minutes in the restaurant. He stated that if I didn't place additional orders, I needed to pay and leave. I spent approximately $30 per person on my breakfast, while the two pairs sitting next to me at the same countertop only ordered coffees. Furthermore, the pair to my right, who arrived earlier than me, only ordered a coffee during their stay. It's perplexing that despite spending significantly less (under $10), they were allowed to stay longer than me. The only plausible explanation seems to be that I am Asian, while most of the other patrons were White, even though the waiter himself was not. Disappointed with the discriminatory treatment, I chose not to tip the waiter who failed to attend to my dining needs. Instead, I tipped Brianni, the original waitress, who deserved it for her excellent service. Before leaving, I inquired about the typical turnover time for a table in the restaurant, and she mentioned it is usually about 1.5 hours. This was the worst dining experience I've ever had, and it seems the behavior of the newly assigned waiter was discriminatory.

The owner Nick is downright rude! With poor customer service, who can enjoy the food that is Starbucks quality to begin with. I could not even believe he was the owner since he acted like he was not empowered. Small “duck” issues perhaps?

Was extremely excited to eat here as had been told such good things. Spoke to the waiter about my gluten intolerance and he assured me they had gluten free bread. After waiting a short while the food turned up and looked fantastic. My friend ordered the pancakes and I had gluten free bread with avocado. On having one bite I could tell the bread wasn't gluten free. I asked the waiter and he said no it's multi grain bread. I sent it straight back. There was no urgency to come and see if I was OK. Nor an apology from the waiter in question. It was only when I kept looking around that another waiter came over. He apologised and told me I wouldn't be paying for my food. He unfortunately didn't understand the affects this would have on me, and the bill wasn't on my mind. Disgusting behaviour for a mistake that could have had me extremely ill. I wasn't well for most of the day after one small bite!!!!!

It's quite busy. Wait is somewhere around a half hour. Get on a waitlist to sit at the front counter on the right. Counters are part of the waitlist as well. Order at the counter in the middle if it's to go. We decided to take the food to go and eat back at the hotel instead of waiting for a table. We ordered the Smash, The Muse, vanilla bean panna cotta and Green eggs and Damn and an oat milk latte. $77.30. Food was out after 25 minutes or so, same with the coffee. The coffee had to be remade, was made with whole milk and not the oat milk as ordered. The green eggs and Damn was okay. It’s a green mean omelet, more of a novelty order. The panna cotta was quite good. Granola and berries were really good with it. The muse was just okay. I think this might be better warmed for me. It tasted cold and mushy and lack luster. The smash was okay, the bread was crunchy and yummy. I think it could use more oomph as the handful of red pepper flakes doesn’t add much to it. It just seemed too plain.

During our family vacation in Manhattan, we decided to have breakfast at Little Collins. When we arrived around 10:45 AM on a Sunday, the place was bustling. We were informed there would be an hour-long wait, but we chose to stay, intrigued by the lively atmosphere. To pass the time, we walked around the area and explored the nearby shops. Jason, the host, assured us he would call 15 minutes before a table became available. However, we never received his call, so we returned to the restaurant after the hour had passed. By then, Jason was on his break, and we spoke with Olivia instead. We explained the situation, and she graciously prioritized our seating. Once seated, we were attended by our server Merriane, who was extremely nice and helpful. We ordered breakfast, and it turned out to be one of the most delightful dining experiences of our trip. The food was exceptional, especially the Eggs Benny, Holy Shishito, and Mary’s Mushrooms. The Flat White was also excellent! Despite the wait time, I highly recommend Little Collins for a wonderful breakfast in Manhattan.

The Smash (avocado) Toast is amazing! Tasty bread, lots of avocado, feta, some hot peppers, and pumpkin seeds! Delicious! I would eat it every day. Highly recommend! Overall the place has a nice atmosphere. You can eat inside or grab your food to go. Would totally come back.
