After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided this was the perfect place to eat dinner after a weekday matinee of Hamilton. It's exactly one block away from the theater and we arrived an hour before our scheduled reservation hoping maybe we could be seated...More

Joe All is famous! It has been a desirable spot to eat pre and post theatre. We found ourselves there after seeing Wicked and having wandered up Restaurant Row. Even though it was almost 6 p.m. and we didn't have a reservation, we were greeted...More

We went here for dinner before our plays with 15 family members. We had three different theaters amongst our group and it was close to all of them. Full bar & wine list. Our waiter was a little crabby at first but warmed up. The...More

We went in before watching Hamilton. Our server was not very attentive and the food was lackluster. It was a perfect distance from the Rodgers theatre and recommended by our hotel concierge as a favorite in the district. We may go back but will not...More

Reliable landmark with a genuine sense of place. Good pre-matinee brunch; not cheap but not off the charts outrageous. Comfortable setting. Decent service and food.

Five adults ate here pre-theater and enjoyed the ambiance, service and food. Good sized portions. The salmon was excellent as was the meatloaf. Salads were also quite good and the prices were also good for my stomach! Although not outstanding and good solid choice. I...More

Wonderful, cozy, friendly restaurant with impeccable service and delicious burgers! Our server had a lovely smile and easy manner that made us realize she must have been an actress (and she was!). What a great before-theater eatery!

We chose this restaurant for its convenient location, but certainly not for its huge menu, which was surprisingly limited. Nevertheless we all found something to enjoy - Grilled chicken and mashed potatoes, Thai vegetarian stew and Strip steak, all very good. The restaurant does not...More

As a native New Yorker, I have heard about Joe Allen for years and assumed it was another tourist trap. Went today for lunch before a show and was pleasantly surprised. Great lobster and crab roll preceded by a solid Caesar salad. Great coffee. A...More

I find it usually depends on the day of the week and the time you want to go . Pre and post theatre hours are the busiest for them and the most difficult to get reservations. A week out you should have no issues
